10 years after Daisy Ridley's first time Star Wars table read to Star Wars: The Force Awakensthe sequel trilogy star revealed exactly what it was like for her and what she feared most. Entering the Star Wars galaxy is no small feat, especially for someone like Ridley who was so young at the time. She was just 22 when she sat down alongside talent like Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher to delve into the larger story she and her co-stars would be telling, and it wasn't all roses right away.

Ridley revealed the details about her first table read to The Force Awakens to Empire Magazine in her latest issue, where she hilariously jokes about her biggest fears and what the cast and crew like JJ Abrams must have thought about her at the time. “I remember being very scared. I had to spend many hours,” Ridley shares. “I literally had to go, 'I'm sorry'; because I was very nervous.” According to Ridley, those nerves were further stirred by the seating arrangement.

They sat me between Carrie [Fisher] and Harrison [Ford]and it was desperate,” Ridley says: “but everyone was so lovely.“Yet, despite everyone's kindness to her, Ridley still believes this table reading was far from her best effort.”The reading went by like a blur and I think I did terrible. No, seriously!“She even says that Abrams pulled her aside afterward and offered to talk to her about everything in person.”They probably thought, What have we done?'“Ridley jokes,”but it was already too late!

Of course, in retrospect, it's clear that Ridley was made for this role – and now, long after her debut in The Force AwakensRidley's Rey will be the leading hero Star Wars in your next era.
