Dragon Ball just introduced us to the only villain that not even Goku and Vegeta can defeat

Dragon Ball Daima Episode 10 continues the trend of introducing new elements that are refreshing the franchise in small but significant ways. For example, by introducing the true creator of Majin Buu, the series implemented a major retcon that redefines the villain's role. It was implied that the series made these changes, especially with Majin Buu, to introduce a new villain who could pose an equal or even greater threat than Majin Buu.

However, after seeing Majin Kuu in action in the latest episode, it's clear that although the new character is strong, he won't be able to challenge the Z Fighters. While this is somewhat disappointing, the last episode also subtly introduces a new monstereven Goku admitting it's a threat he and Vegeta aren't yet strong enough to face.

Dragon Ball Daima's Kraken is a monster that Goku and Vegeta still can't defeat

Krakens are native to the oceans of the Second World in the Demon Realm

Dragon Ball Daima Episode 10, titled “Ocean”, follows Goku and his group as they arrive in the Second World of the Demon Realm. Glorio explains that the thin air of this world makes flying easier, but also answers Shin's question by confirming that many Krakens still inhabit the oceans, leaving Shin worried. Panzy ratchets up the tension by sharing rumors about the monsters, revealing that the Krakens are as big as islands and immune to bombs.

The episode soon introduces the monster in action, attacking the ship that brought Goku and the others, with Goku and Panzy almost swallowed by the Kraken while trying to save a Dragon Ball. While the Kraken is undeniably intimidating, the threat is taken to another level when Even Goku seems disturbed by this. After the flying ship is destroyed, Goku senses Vegeta and his group nearby and leaves to get them.

Goku warns Vegeta and the others about the Kraken, but Vegeta mocks him for being afraid of a mere monster. However, after catching a glimpse of the Kraken, Vegeta is surprised by its immense size, leading Goku to admit that they are not strong enough to face it. While this revelation is surprising given Goku and Vegeta's history of defeating global threats, Daima already explained why they aren't powerful enough to take on the Kraken yet.

Why can't Goku or Vegeta still defeat the Kraken?

Goku reveals that they are still not strong enough to defeat Kraken

Daima had already nerfed Goku and Vegeta by turning them into children, and with the introduction of various factors like the thin air of the Demon Realm, it's clear that Goku and Vegeta are significantly weaker in Daima than they were in Dragon Ball Z. With smaller bodies and unfamiliar conditions, it will take time for them to adapt and regain their full potential. This probably explains why Goku admitted that they are not strong enough to face the Kraken, which is much larger and more powerful.

With Goku managing to escape the Kraken's mouth, save Panzy and even defeat a Tamagami, it's clear that he's already starting to adapt to the changes. However, his last comment acknowledges that he has not yet regained his core strength. As Goku and Vegeta continue to adjust to their new bodies and surroundings, it is evident that their original strength will eventually return. Dragon Ball Daimamaking defeating this new villain less challenging in time.
