Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 Chef Cloyce Martin Is Making a Turnaround (Will He Last the Whole Season After Poor Performance?)

Sailing yacht below deck season 5 has been a struggle for Chef Cloyce Martin, who joined his first Below Deck franchise experience this season, but he's finally having a turnaround after an incredibly poor performance. While Cloyce has struggled, his time Sailing yacht below deck season 5 isn't the only problem viewers have seen on screen this season. The chef, who is one of the youngest Below Deck franchise chefs who have already participated in a charter season, have struggled with the feedback they received from Captain Glenn Shephard and Daisy Kelliher on board.

Although Cloyce is a big part of the season, his difficulties resonating with viewers weren't entirely his fault. Sailing yacht below deck Season 5's main struggles came from Gary King, Parsifal III's longtime first officer, and his off-screen behavior that led to him being largely edited out of the show's on-screen. Gary, who was accused of sexual misconduct by a Below Deck franchise makeup artist during filming Sailing yacht below deck Season 5 was largely edited out of the series, and so the drama he normally brought to the series didn't appear.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5's Cloyce struggled on first few charters

He had difficulty solving his problems

Although Cloyce has the training to do his job well, he struggled in the first few cards of the season in Sailing yacht below deck season 5. Cloyce shared that he was hopeful he would be able to do the job well with very little experience in marine kitchens, but he was confident his skills would transfer to the smaller, higher-pressure space. Unfortunately, Chef Cloyce was not prepared for the harsh realities of working in a Below Deck show for charter guests with serious demands.

Although Cloyce has worked professionally before, it was unclear whether he was used to doing so in the first few matches of the season. Their meals were lackluster and always disappointed charter guests as well as the rest of the crew. Cloyce wasn't happy with his performance but didn't see much need for improvement during the rest of the season either. nor was he interested in the feedback he received from his crewmates.

He didn't take criticism well

Even though Cloyce knew she wasn't doing the best job Sailing yacht below deck Season 5, he was also not happy when this was pointed out to him by other crew members. Captain Glenn shared with Cloyce early on that he was not happy with his performance, which should have been a warning sign for the Below Deck chefbut he chose not to take the feedback as seriously as he should have. Additionally, Cloyce felt no urgency after listening to Boss Stew Daisy, instead being irritated that people were giving him feedback on his work.

He's better in recent episodes

As Cloyce progressed through the charter season, the Below Deck the chef was able to improve using the feedback he received from his teammates and his general sensitivity. As a professional chef, Cloyce had to gain a foothold aboard Parsifal III before he could actually produce meals which worked for the charter guests and the crew. With some time and some feedback from others, Cloyce has managed to do much better on recent charters. While not certain, it is no longer likely that Cloyce will be targeted Sailing yacht below deck season 5.
