After the franchise continued to shift its focus from racing to high-stakes action, Vin Diesel promised Fast and Furious 11 would return to the series' roots, but only one scene can really make it happen. Fast and Furious may be known for its ridiculous stunts and over-the-top action sequences these days, but it wasn't always that way. When the saga began, there was a much greater emphasis on illegal racing and the culture that accompanies it, but audiences ended up becoming more interested in the blockbuster elements of the franchise, as evidenced by box office growth over the years.
Some fans may become nostalgic for Fast and Furious'previously, but there's no denying that modern films have a greater mainstream appeal. Despite this, Vin Diesel wants F&F 11 to return to its roots, suggesting that some of the early features that made the film series so popular could return. However, with cars leaping from skyscrapers and characters showing strength beyond human limitations, it may be difficult to completely reset, especially given the story's current direction. Therefore, there is only one real way to implement the franchise's original premise without detracting from the ongoing narrative.
Fast & Furious 11 should have at least one high-stakes street race
A street race in the final film would need to have a lot at stake
If Fast and Furious If you really want to go back to your roots, you have to have a significant street race with a lot at stake. While recent films still feature street racing, they have mostly been filler and almost homages to the previous films rather than involving any real danger. Fast killed Diogo in his only directing competitionbut he wasn't a particularly important character and his death was mainly used to turn Dante into the central villain, which means Fast and Furious 11 you would have to grow up to feel truly nostalgic.
Having something significant at stake, like Dom's freedom or the chance to save a loved one, would make the race between the protagonist and Dante more interesting.
Having something significant at stake, like Dom's freedom or the chance to save a loved one, would make the race between the protagonist and Dante more interesting. It would also be better if it was one on one, to avoid the same kind of shenanigans that Fast removed. With Fast and Furious 11 Being the final film in the franchise, there's a realistic chance that Dom will lose, and having the outcome actually matter, as well as having a tangible stake within the race, would be the perfect way to mix the old and new elements of the franchise.
Fast & Furious 11 Having more than one street race would be a welcome surprise
The franchise has abandoned racing in favor of blockbuster action in recent years
In addition to having a high-stakes final street race, it would be an even bigger surprise if Fast and Furious 11 featured more than one throughout the film. Dom and Dante's confrontation seems inevitable, and resolving their differences in cars would be more meaningful than with fists or guns. However, allowing other characters like Letty, Han, Gisele, and Roman to compete in their own important races would give them fitting send-offs. Sadly, most modern films usually only contain one or two street racesand are often just for fun or a reminder to show off the drivers' skills.
Five quick nor did it feature any sort of street racing, proving how fun it would be to see them brought back in abundance for the final outing. Naturally, not every character can have their own one-on-one competition, but having Ramsey and Tej help Roman navigate a complicated course would be a great way to involve them, while Hobbs and Shaw can stick to action-focused scenes since the races are not as integral to their characters. As a result, Fast and Furious 11 including multiple races would make it feel different from recent films and give the franchise a proper conclusion.
