How to access the giant's tomb

Entering the Giant's Tomb is an important part of the initial main quest in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Immediately after The Great CircleIn the tutorial, you'll be thrown into a mystery that begins with a giant breaking into Indy's office at Marshall College and making off with an ancient artifact. You will then have to follow a series of clues that will eventually lead you to the Vatican. There, you'll connect with Indy's friend Antonio, who will ultimately direct you to the Giant's Tomb beneath the Tower of Nicholas V.

To continue the main quest, “The mummy of the stolen cat“, you will need to find your way to this mysterious ruin. To get there, you need to solve several puzzles, unlocking a huge new section of the Vatican map. As you explore it, you will find many new items, including Ancient Relics and other useful collectibles. Here's everything you need to do to access the Giant's Tomb in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Entering the Tower of Saint Nicholas

The puzzle of the altar and the mural

After receiving instructions from Antonio, go to the Tower of Nicholas V. Go inside and find your way to the lowest level. There you will find what appears to be a small chapel (pictured above), attended by two statues and topped by a carved stone altar with a large stone relief behind it. The “Strange Mural”, as it is called if you take a photo with the camera, depicts Saint Michael fighting a demon. Approach the bowl in front of the altar and you will have the opportunity to interact with it by pouring wine into the bowl. listen as the disc in the center of the relief begins to rumble.

Now, get close to the disc and you will find that you are able to spin it. The trick is turn it so that Saint Michael is facing up and the devil is facing downas described above. The door should then open and slide. Enter and descend the spiral staircase, unlocking the Underworld Map. This area is very dark, so be sure to grab the candlestick on the altar before heading down to the underworld. You'll also want to light any braziers you find throughout to ensure even light distribution.

The First Gate

Follow the very linear path downstairs, making sure to swap the candlestick for the torch you find along the wall. (Don't forget to light it.) Eventually, you'll come across a dead end: a closed gate with no apparent way to open or unlock it. Look to the left and you'll notice a torch in a wall sconce. Take your torch and light it, then place the still-lit torch in the other lamp on the opposite side. The flames will spread to the next room and the gate will open.

The Sacred Wounds Mural

Move forward and you will find a fresco depicting Jesus on the cross, the Mural of the Sacred Wounds. Note the Roman numerals on the mural and the basin in front of it, similar to the one you saw earlier. Go over there and pour some wine inside. Levers will appear below each set of Roman numerals, but we can't do anything with them yet.

Instead, look around the room first and notice the various other works of art scattered around the room and those adjacent to it. Note that each also has a basin. What you need to do here is Pour wine into each basin, then look inside the basin to see a Roman numeral. You will need to match each of these numbers to the Sacred Wounds depicted on the mural based on the content of the artwork behind it, eventually adjusting each lever to the corresponding number. If you don't know how to read Roman numerals, Indy will do it for you.

Note that you will have to break the wall next to the Spear of Longinus statue to get out of that room, as the door closes behind you as soon as you enter. You will also have to go through a small opening in the wall to get to the Anointing painting. After doing this, the door will rotate, creating an opening for you to pass through.

Continue along the path. If you take a detour to the right and jump into the small hole in the wall, you can crawl through a small space to reach a secret room, where you will find a page from an Explorer's Journal. Use your whip on the area above the door to get out. If you fall into the hole in the floor in the next area, you can find a second diary page crawling through another small hole.

Finding and opening the giant's tomb

Finding the burial chamber key

Eventually, you'll find a room with what appears to be a giant pit in the middle. There's a skeleton sitting on the other side, holding the key to the Burial Chamber in his hand. Take it and go back the way you came, jumping over the chasm to find the gate to the Burial Chamber. Therefore, you will come face to face with the Giant's Tomb.

The shield puzzle

Before opening the Giant's Tomb, you will need to solve one more puzzle. Note the shield-shaped carvings on both sides of the coffinand go to the one on the left first. Interact with it to activate a mechanism. Now walk over to the shield on the right, which you will see has rotated. Interact with him to remove him from the wall, then place him on the floor and flip another switch in the hole he left to open the coffin.

Watch the scene that unfolds and you will obtain the item you were looking for: the Scroll of the Giant Warrior. With all of this behind you, you can move on to the next phase of the main quest in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: Leaving the Giant's Tomb.
