Fire Country Season 3 Episode 1 Recap

Notice! SPOILERS for Fire Country season 3, episode 1 ahead.

Land of Fire
season 3 came back with a bang, finally resolving the season 2 ending while also providing an update on Bode’s new dream of joining Cal Fire. Bode’s personal journey into Land of Fire season two finally brought him to a place where he stopped chasing specific outcomes because of how worthy he felt as a result and realized that What Bode wanted to do with his life was fight firesleading him to defend his dream with Luke. Another notable event was Gabriela’s indecision at the altar, whose resolution Land of Fire season 3, episode 1 brought.

Between Jake being stressed about Genevieve being blocked by debris from the helicopter crash at Smokey’s and Diego, Bode and Gabriela taking care of the pilot, Land of Fire The Season 3 premiere had many high-intensity moments. The dangerous situations, however, allowed the love triangle to honestly discuss what had happened, with Gabriela finally explaining why marrying Diego would have been a bad choice for her in Land of Fire season 3. Their development wasn’t the only major development, however, as Sharon freed Manny so he could help, adding to his troubles with the law when the police arrived on the scene and found him running amok.

Bode’s determination to fight fire finally allows him to claim his Leone legacy

Bode will stop at nothing to become a firefighter

Michael Trucco as Luke Leone and Max Thieriot as Bode Leone in Fire Country Season 2, Episode 10

Land of Fire The season 2 finale confirmed to Bode that firefighting was his future. Although everyone reminded Bode how important it was to preserve the structure he had at Three Rock, it was the construction site fire that confirmed to Bode how fundamentally happy firefighting made him. Coupled with Gabriela’s impending nuptials and his focus on the future, which only became more important when Manny stopped him from crashing Gabriela’s wedding, Bode’s desire to dedicate himself to firefighting became even more urgent.

Land of Fire The season 3 premiere cemented Bode’s desire to become part of Cal Fire, and his speech to his uncle Luke proved it. Bode not only reminded Luke of his recent attempts to close Three Rock, but also of his reputation, which led to many disliking him. Although the remarks could have been considered fruitless due to their seemingly insulting nature, it was clear that Bode just wanted to motivate Luke to help him by forcing him to pull the strings or even “a rope”To ease Bode’s path to firefighting.

Gabriela jumps to the rescue because she can’t marry Diego

Gabriela’s hesitation goes on for a long time so as not to be noticed before the accident

Stephanie Arcila as Gabriela and Rafael de la Fuente as Diego in Fire Country season 2, episode 10

Land of Fire Episode 1 of the third season even managed to resolve the big cliffhanger of the second season. Gabriela’s hesitation at the altar seemed to contrast with her happiness before walking down the aisle, even though it was entirely reflected Gabriela’s uncertainty the night before, when she confessed to Eve how she and Bode kissed at Lazarus’s bonfire. Gabriela made a sensible decision and chose Diego instead of exploring her lingering feelings for Bode. However, this only made Gabriela more confused, leading to the awkward silence at the altar.

While helicopter crash was just the latest absurd tragedy to hit Edgewater, it also proved fortuitous for Gabriela, as gave her a chance to do something to help other people and postpone her decision about marriage. Realizing that Bode had left the church didn’t help with the confusion either, as it further convinced her that he was hiding something from her. Even so, marrying Diego was a wrong choice because of her evident feelings for Bode, making the distraction caused by the helicopter crash the best time for Gabriela to interrupt the wedding.

6

Sharon releasing Manny could worsen the circumstances surrounding his arrest

Vince and Manny’s reasoning is confirmed, but Sharon continues to take risks for Manny

Diane Farr as Sharon Leone and Billy Burke as Vince Leone in Fire Country Season 2, Episode 10

Sharon had already interceded Land of Fire the season 2 finale, when she pressured the cops to wait so Manny could walk Gabriela down the aisle before arresting him. Therefore, Vince didn’t just tell Manny that the police were looking for him Land of Fire Season 2, but Sharon also played her roleand this was made even more evident by what Manny asked Sharon to do in Land of Fire Season 3, Episode 1.

The helicopter crash being an emergency meant that everyone who could help would be needed, and Vince and Sharon even let Bode handle the fires despite knowing full well he was not a trained firefighter. Manny was unharmed while the arresting officers made him ask Sharon to release him momentarily, thus committing a crime as Manny should have remained handcuffed. Between the cops being furious to find Manny without handcuffs and Vince and Sharon breaking the law to free Manny, they basically did everything they could to help their friend.

5

Manny being against Bode and Gabriela could be his biggest challenge in season 3

Manny only wants the best for them and has never been opposed to their relationship before

Kevin Alejandro as Manny Perez in episode 10 of season 2 of Fire Country

Although I was surprised by Bode and Gabriela’s relationship in Land of Fire season 1, Manny never opposed them. However, Land of Fire Season 3 Episode 1 showed Manny certain about his request to Sharon to oppose their romanceunderlining how volatile Gabriela and Bode were when they were together and how they both needed calm, rather than embarking on a relationship that led them to be fast and loose with the rules. Although Sharon seemed unconvinced, wanting to help Bode could eventually force her to oppose Bode and Gabriela, especially if she saw them bring out the worst in each other.

It’s unclear whether Manny is right to want Bode and Gabriela to be separated in Land of Fire Season 3, especially at this crucial time in their lives. Yet, Manny’s assessment that the way Bode and Gabriela behaved reflected his and Roberta’s relationship was not entirely strangeas Bode and Gabriela were capable of overcoming unbelievable obstacles together, but they often did so in extreme situations that had the power to make or break them, as the helicopter pilot’s rescue proved. If Sharon and Vince also saw what Manny did, they might be on board, keeping Bode and Gabriela apart for their sake.

4

Bode and Gabriela’s conversation allows the truth to finally emerge

Gabriela and Bode hid their feelings during season 2 of Fire Country

Max Thieriot as Bode Leone and Stephanie Arcila as Gabriela Perez in Fire Country season 2, episode 5

Gabriela never let Bode escape Land of Fire Season 3 Episode 1 finally let the two talk about their feelings. In fact, although Gabriela spent most of her time Land of Fire Season 2 avoiding talking to Bode about how she felt when he excluded her, she couldn’t delay her decision about marriage too much. Bode stopped refusing to answer her questions when he learned that she didn’t marry Diego, showing Gabriela that he cared about what she chose.even if he didn’t make it explicit in words.

Likewise, Gabriela finally admitted how she felt the whole time Land of Fire season 2, also revealing to Bode the truth about what their kiss made her feel, something she avoided acknowledging in Land of Fire season 2 finale, but was ready to face it when she felt relief after having to leave her wedding ceremony. It’s unclear whether Bode and Gabriela will act on their feelings, but at least now they both know where they stand and how they feel the same way about each other.

3

Sharon and Luke’s conversation almost confirms that Bode will fulfill his desire to be a firefighter

Sharon’s suggestion shows that she wants Luke to speed up Bode’s application

Michael Trucco as Luke Leone and Diane Farr as Sharon Leone in Fire Country season 2 episode 10-1

Luke’s opinion did not change after Bode gained his freedom, and he continued to assert that it was nearly impossible for inmate firefighters to be accepted to train as Cal Fire firefighters after their release. Bode’s entire speech in Land of Fire the season 2 finale was aimed at convincing Luke to help him by forcing him to pull strings so that the transition from inmate firefighter to Cal Fire firefighter could be quicker for Bode. Although Luke didn’t see the reason for this before, Land of Fire Season 3 Episode 1 showed him how much Bode needs to become a firefighter.

Luke seeing Bode’s restraint in refusing to stop the wedding despite his feelings, and thinking about his definition of firefighting as his “healthy addiction” eventually changed his mind. Although it is not known how he will be able to accelerate Bode’s candidacy, Luke’s conversation with Sharon about Bode strongly suggested that Bode was training to be a firefighter in Land of Fire season 3. Between Sharon thinking it could do Bode some good and seeing how any Leone came to life on the field, Luke and Sharon couldn’t deny that training within Cal Fire could allow Bode to finally flourish.

2

Rick being involved with Jake and Gen could help them feel closer to Cara

Rick being friends with Cara can keep her memory alive

Adam Aalderks as Rick and Jordan Calloway as Jake in Fire Country Season 2, Episode 10

Rick’s bombshell revelation that his return to Edgewater was due to learning of Cara’s death and how he thought Genevieve could be his daughter rightfully shocked Jake, especially after he passed Land of Fire 2nd season fighting everyone so he could take care of Gen. However, the events of Land of Fire Season 3 Episode 1 showed that Rick’s involvement with Jake and Gen could actually help them keep Cara’s memory aliveas Rick had a close friendship with her when Jake and Gen didn’t know her.

Although everyone in Edgewater was surprised by Rick’s return because of the bad influence he had in high school with Bode, Rick’s reasons for returning were significant. Jake becoming Gen’s guardian in Land of Fire season two was the more sensible choice, even if Gen was Bode’s biological daughter, and Rick’s arrival won’t change that. Yet, Given Rick’s unexpected wisdom and his knowledge of what Cara was like, his return to Edgewater could help Gen and Jake learn about another side of Cara.that they never had the chance to meet.

1

Diego finally knowing the truth highlights how much Gabriela’s lies hurt

By refusing to discuss her feelings, Gabriela deceived Diego and herself

Stephanie Arcila as Gabriela, Barclay Hope as Father Pascal and Rafael de la Fuente as Diego in Fire Country season 2, episode 10

Gabriela and Diego’s quick courtship and engagement perfectly defined him as Bode’s rival, but that didn’t cancel out how Gabriela’s behavior hurt him. Although his manner could sometimes seem possessive because of his jealousy, Diego’s heartbreaking revelations showed how Gabriela’s indecision also hurt him. The fact that he realized what was happening between Gabriela and Bode made everything sadder.because it meant that Gabriela confessing her feelings could have helped him not feel betrayed.

Gabriela specifying how she wanted Diego’s future placed emphasis on their different aspirations now, cementing how the wedding ceremony will never resume. Yet, A lot of pain could have been avoided if Gabriela had been open instead of burying her head in the sand about Bode’s feelings just because he hurt her by excluding her, leaving enormous chaos behind Land of Fire season 3 to untangle.
