New Screllum leaks to Honkai: Star Trail have emerged after a long time since the character's last update, and while previous rumors indicated he wouldn't be arriving anytime soon, it still seems like there's hope for the character. Screwllum is a member of the Genius Society in HoYoverse's turn-based RPG and fellow member of The Herta. He was introduced as an NPC in version 1.1, shortly after the game's release in 2023. Since then, there has been speculation about his possible release, but the most recent leaks said that Screwllum's release in Honkai: Star Trail was cancelled.
Before that, however, there were leaks indicating that Screwllum was an imaginary character following the Path of Eruditemeaning the main focus of his gaming kit would be hitting multiple enemies at once, just like his Genius Society counterpart The Herta. Officially, in the game, Screwllum appeared numerous times and, more recently, presented himself as responsible for the activity of the Divergent Universe. Even though it has been absent from leaks for a long time, new Screwllum leaks in Honkai: Star Trail emerged, showing that his release may not have been canceled.
Screwllum Leaks In Honkai: Star Rail Indicates That Its Playable Version Still Exists
Rumors indicate that the character is still being updated
While no precise details have been shared, there is new information about Screwllum as a playable character. According to the leaker known as Sakura Haven, There aren't enough details to provide substantial information about Screwllum, but the character is still receiving updates. The leak was shared in a post flagged as “Questionable” about Reddit. If this is true, then previous leaks about Screwllum's playable form being canceled in Honkai: Star Trail may have been false.
The current leak makes it impossible to decipher when the character will be released. Based on previous leaks, Screwllum's release has been delayed several times, either because the rumors were wrong or because he was delayed to make room for other playable characters. If Screwllum is still receiving updates, it means that HoYoverse is actively working on its game kit and as such, it should be released in the future, however unpredictable it may be at the moment.. This raises hope for the release of Screwllum next year, among the Ampforeus characters in Honkai: Star Trail.

With Amphoraus' large character roster, the game is set to have a full calendar of new character releases for upcoming patches. In fact, the characters leaked to Honkai: Star Trail 3.0 to 3.2 show that two new Amphoraus 5-stars are arriving in every update, leaving no room for Screwllum anytime soon.
As such, players may have to wait for most of the Amphoraus content to be released before they can start dreaming about Screwllum releasing again. However, the leak alleviates some concerns among Screwllum fans, even if the rumor should be taken with greater caution, considering that the leak may be incorrect, incomplete or subject to change. With The Herta gaining prominence in Honkai: Star Trail 3.0, we hope its fellow Screwllum also gets some attention in the near future, even if it's just a teaser for its playable version.
