Finn Bennett as Peter Prior in True Detective Night Country (1)

Finn Bennett, who played Peter in True Detective 4th season, appears in Black Doves Season 1 as CIA agent Cole Atwood. Since True Detective is an anthology series, Bennett will not return to reprise his role as Night country although there has been speculation about a potential Night country season 2. However, Black Doves gives Bennett a compelling new spy/murder mystery show in which he works for the CIA, which is very close to his cop role in True Detective season 4.

Bennett, a 25-year-old Irish-British actor, began acting in 2010, appearing in an episode of Foyle's War and later Superior boy in 2023. Bennett will play Prince Aerion “Brightflame” Targaryen alongside Bertie Carvel and Daniel Ings.

Cole could be an asset or a threat to Helen Webb

Without giving anything away in terms of spoilers, Bennett's CIA agent Cole Atwood could be a key player in the Black Doves season 2. As he is introduced later in the six-episode first season, there is still a lot of unknown information about him. Like a black dove, Knightley's Helen Webb has no allegiance to any particular nationunlike Atwood it is for the United States. If Bennett returns Black Doves in season 2, he could be an asset or a threat to Helen and the entire Black Doves organization.
