Songs from episode 1 of No Good Deed
Episode Title: “Open House”
“Mommy, I’m Coming Home” by Ozzy Osbourne – The first song heard in No good deedThe first episode of is, appropriately enough, Ozzy Osbourne's “Mama, I'm Coming Home.” As this number plays, the camera travels along the road to Paul and Lydia Morgan's house, literally bringing the audience into the series' central home. The music continues as the audience is introduced to the first group of people looking at the Morgan estate during its first open house.
“Fantasia in D Minor Piano Solo KV 397” performed by Svetlana Stanceva – Lydia was a concert pianist before something terrible happened that gave her a tremor and made it impossible for her to play. However, after bringing in a piano tuner No good deed In episode 1, Lydia sat at the keys and imagined, for a moment, that she was playing again. The song that plays while she does this is “Fantasia in D Minor,” performed by Svetlana Stanceva.
Songs from episode 3 of No Good Deed
Episode title: “Letters of Intent”
“Wanted Dead or Alive” by Bon Jovi – In No good deed episode 3, “Letters of Intent”, Paul tries to buy some cocaine, hoping to plant it on his brother Mikey and get the man sent back to prison. However, during his first drug deal with a dog handler, the cops show up and Paul is arrested. As he leaves the business in handcuffs, Bon Jovi's “Wanted Dead Or Alive” plays. This same song can be heard again later No good deed episode 3, when Paul and Lydia have their first intimate moment together in months.
Songs from episode 4 of No Good Deed
Episode title: “Fundamental Questions”
“Carry On Wayward Son” by Kansas – Paul and his brother Mikey grew up in the Los Feliz house, but they don't have fantastic memories there. At the beginning of No good deed episode 4, “Foundation Issues”, there is a flashback to these boys' childhoods, and the song “Carry On Wayward Son” by Kansas plays on a record player. This sets the time period of the flashback and at the same time provides a clue as to where Mikey hid the evidence he kept over Paul and Lydia's heads.
Songs from episode 5 of No Good Deed
Episode Title: “Fora do Mercado”
“Home sweet home” by Mötley Crüe – In No good deed episode 5, 'Off the Market', Paul and Lydia are reeling from how their lives spiraled out of control after they trapped Mikey in a hidden room. As they momentarily discuss the chaos, the Mötley Crüe song “Home Sweet Home” plays. This is another song suitable for No good deedalthough ironic in this situation because it is clear that the Morgan house is no longer “sweet.”
This is yet another appropriate song for No Good Deed, albeit ironic in this situation because it's clear that the Morgan household is no longer “sweet.”
“His Song” by Elton John – Later in No good deed episode 5, Lydia ends up in the uncomfortable position of watching her famous neighbor, JD Campbell, play the piano for her. He plays a version of Elton John's “Your Song”, which he apparently learned as a surprise for his first wife. He messes up the piano accompaniment, however, which leads Lydia to impulsively intervene. She ends up playing a few bars of Elton John's song – the first thing she's played since her son was killed. However, the tremors quickly return and Lydia claims to have forgotten the rest.
Songs from episode 7 of No Good Deed
Episode title: “Best and Final”
“I’m Still Here” by Rachael Cantu – In No good deed episode 7, “Best and Final”, Lydia pays her daughter Emily a visit. The two have essentially been estranged since Jacob's death, and Lydia has been consumed by her grief and regret. However, hoping to make up for it, the woman goes to a coffee shop where Emily will perform. Lydia's talented daughter played a song she wrote herself, which was actually written by Rachael Cantu specifically for No good deed.
Songs from episode 8 of No Good Deed
Episode title: “Sold”
“Missionary Man” by Eurythmics – The big turnaround No good deed is that Paul and Lydia's daughter, Emily, didn't kill Jacob after all. Margo shot the teenager in the back at exactly the same moment that Emily fired and missed with the family's gun. The news was a relief, but Lydia was, naturally, furious with Margo. Even so, she walked away from the woman, leaving her to face the consequences of her husband, JD, who also discovered the truth. As the camera pans away from Lydia and across the street to Margo's mansion, the Eurythmics song “Missionary Man” plays – and the house starts to burn.
“Jacob’s Song” by Rachael Cantu – The emotional ending of No good deed sees Lydia and Emily singing a song together. Titled “Jacob's Song” on the Netflix series' soundtrack, this number was composed by Jacob Morgan himself, with lyrics added by Emily. Lydia accompanies her daughter on the piano, demonstrating that she has finally overcome her tremors and is playing again. “Jacob's Song” is another written by Rachael Cantu, and like this final scene of No good deed transitions to the credits, this singer-songwriter's version can be heard.
