In one of the most interesting moves of the modern biopic In parts tells the life story of musician Pharrell Williams using LEGO bricks, but that doesn’t mean it can replace other LEGO films. In parts received fairly good reviews, with the heartwarming plot and animation style being noted as special highlights. It delves into Farrell’s real-life story, illustrating his life through LEGO animation. It’s great to see filmmakers taking creative risks with documentaries like this, and it’s equally great to see LEGO making a comeback on the big screen.
In parts this is the first LEGO movie released since The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part came out in 2019 and is the first LEGO movie to be released by Universal Pictures since they picked up the rights back in 2020. Since their LEGO rights expire in 2025, this may also be the only LEGO movie released by Universal Pictures. It would be very sad if In parts was LEGO’s last hurray on the big screen. Let’s hope this movie is just a sign of more good things to come from the beloved and colorful franchise.
Biopic ‘Piece by Piece’ Is Better Than the LEGO Movie
The film doesn’t follow the trends of previous LEGO films
Bye In parts while it’s a great movie, it’s not necessarily what you’d expect from the next LEGO-based project. Naturally, it’s very different from previous LEGO projects. Although this is not necessarily a bad thing, the film is clearly a Pharrell Williams biopic first and a LEGO movie second.. That’s not to say the film makes poor use of its chosen material. The film uses a lot of adorable LEGO pieces in scenes that would normally seem very simple. There are also great images of everyone here. In partsLEGO musicians.

While Pharrell is still releasing new music, he hasn’t achieved the same level of success he had in the early to mid-2010s with the triple album. Become lucky, happy, And Blurred lines. LEGO format In parts really helps sell the filmsince the average Pharrell Williams movie might not interest many people, the creativity on display In partsThe director, Morgan Neville, is simply superb, which resulted in the project attracting more interest than there might have been if it had been a straight-up biopic. However, that doesn’t necessarily make it a LEGO movie.
A real new LEGO movie is what the franchise really needs in the future
They can absolutely replicate the success of the original.
In parts is a very interesting idea for a biopic, but it’s not really a LEGO movie. Rather, it’s a movie telling its story through LEGOs. One would hope that the first LEGO project since then The Lego Movie 2A box office disappointment would have been something more similar to those two original films or LEGO Batman Movienot a film about a real musician. Despite the franchise’s failures with The Lego Movie 2 And LEGO Ninjago Movie, there is still a lot of potential for many more LEGO stories to be told..

While the LEGO movie franchise has had its share of problems, it can still be saved. LEGO toys continue to gain popularity, and the brand continues to pursue larger LEGO projects such as video games. The success of previous films proves there This is absolutely room for a successful return of the LEGO film series.. In parts This is a good first step towards reintegrating the franchise back into the film industry, but hopefully it will lead to more LEGO projects in the future.
Universal is running out of time to create a real LEGO movie piece by piece.
Their deal for LEGO rights is about to expire
After disappointing box office performance The LEGO Ninjago Movie And The Lego Movie 2Warner Bros. (which produced four previous LEGO films) allowed the rights to the film to expire in 2020. While this isn’t surprising considering the franchise has released two box office misfires in a row, It was a shame to see that LEGO movies were abandoned so quickly. One of the main problems was that the three LEGO films were released so close to each other, which could potentially overwhelm the market too quickly. Regardless of the reasons, the rights are lost. Now LEGO has struck a deal with Universal Pictures to produce In parts.
Universal has signed a five-year deal from 2020 to 2025 to produce its own series of LEGO films. However, hopes for the appearance of new LEGO films under new rights holders did not materialize. Universal has released a total of zero LEGO projects outside In parts. There are potential plans for another LEGO movie, but what form it will take is anyone’s guess. With the rights set to expire again in a year, can Universal produce any LEGO related content outside of In parts remains in limbo in what feels like a missed opportunity.
