Mysteries can be initiated in different ways, but Collecting documents and notes from all levels is a surefire way to find them. One such mystery in Giza is “The Haunting,” in which Indy learns about possible paranormal activity at a nearby excavation site.

How to start the scary mystery

Search inside the small Nazi camp

To start The Haunting Mystery, you'll need to navigate to the small Nazi camp in the opening section of Giza. Entering from the front will anger the guards, so go to the right side of the camp and locate a small hole in the fence that Indy can crouch. Sneak around the perimeter of the camp until you reach the largest tent, which contains the documents needed to begin the mystery.

I recommend taking a sturdy, improvised weapon, such as a shovel or sledgehammer, in case you are spotted by the guards.

As soon as you enter, take out the guard looking at the shelves and hide his body in the corner of the tent so no guards outside can see him. Look at the table on the right side of the tent and you will find a document titled “Hauntings Report“, which will start The Haunting Mystery after its collection. There is no need to use the camera like in the Fountain of Confession puzzle, but make sure you get the key to the haunted tomb as well, as you will need this to continue with the quest.

How to solve the scary mystery

Take a stealthy approach

After escaping the small Nazi camp, head west towards the Haunted Tomb in question. There will be some guards outside your entrance, but use vehicles as cover to take them out silently, avoiding the use of your weapon. Once the guards have been eliminated, you can safely approach the Haunted Tomb door and use the Haunted Tomb Key to unlock it.

Sometimes there are patrols roaming the road, so be sure to hide the bodies from the guards before entering the Haunted Tomb.

Go down the stairs and look to the left to discover that the path is obstructed by rubble. You'll need to crouch to continue, which will put Indy in a prone position that will allow him to crawl under the rocks. This will take you to a room with a radio that makes haunting sounds. Get the spy's note discover that the haunting noises are a trick to keep the Nazis away from the tomb, as the spy doesn't want any artifacts to fall into his hands.

Collecting the Spy's Note will complete The Haunting Mystery and reward you with Adventure Points. There is no Adventure Book like at the end of the Fortune's Reach Mystery, but there is an Ancient Relic that can be collected to progress the Riddles of the Ancients quest in Gizeh. Now that this mystery has been solved, you can continue exploring Giza in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
