Christopher Nolan's sci-fi epic Interstellar reaches another box office milestone after its re-release. The film follows former NASA pilot Cooper (Matthew McConaughey) as he joins a team of researchers across the galaxy in search of a suitable planet for humanity. During its original release in 2014, the film grossed over $192 million against a budget of $165 million. On your 10th anniversary, Nolan's film returned to theaters with a re-release, including in IMAX.
Interstellar made the list of the 50 highest-grossing science fiction films of all time at the domestic box office, according to The Numbers. With an additional million, Nolan's film has racked up $193.7 million in total domestically, currently ranking 50th on the post-2024 list. Godzilla vs. Kong: The New Empirewhich grossed US$196.4 million during its theatrical run.
