WARNING: Contains potential spoilers for Wonder Woman #15!
For months, DC has been building anticipation for the debut of Wonder Woman new team, and now they've finally arrived – marking one of the most formidable female lineups the DC Universe has ever seen. Her arrival could not be more timely, as the Amazon Princess must now balance the demands of her war against the Sovereign with the transformative role of motherhood.
“Wonder Woman is ranked by Screen Rant as the strongest female character in the DC Universe in our list of the 40 strongest female characters in the DC Universe…”
Wonder Woman #14 by Tom King, Daniel Sampere, Tomeu Morey and Clayton Cowles is without a doubt one of the most important and defining questions in the story of Diana Prince. Not only did it feature the shocking death of her iconic and longtime love, Steve Trevor, at the hands of the Sovereign, but it also introduced her daughter, Elizabeth “Lizzie” Marston Prince, in the DC Universe.
Issue #15 picks up where these monumental events left off, following Wonder Woman as she continues to fight the Highbreed's war against her and her Amazon sisters while embracing her new role as mother. Fortunately, she is not alone, as help comes in the form of her Amazon sisters and a rival..
Wonder Woman's New Team Includes Cheetah and Wonder Girls Cassie Sandsmark, Donna Troy and Yara Flor
Diana's All-Female Task Force Debuts With Epic Codenames
DC has been teasing Wonder Woman's new task force through cover art, issue synopses and story developments, revealing that Diana has assembled a powerful team consisting of Wonder Girls Cassie Sandsmark, Donna Troy, Yara Flor and her ex- enemy-turned-ally, Barbara “Cheetah” Minerva. Wonder Woman #15 marks the official debut of this team, as Cheetah and each Wonder Girl target a key asset of the Sovereign in an effort to weaken him in his war against Wonder Woman and the Amazons. For example, Cassie takes on the Sovereign's wealth-hoarding warship and sinks it, while the other team members focus on similar high-value targets.
The debut of this formidable team also features unique codenames and team-specific code language, inspired by the altered version of Diana from the popular “Five Little Monkeys” children's song. In Diana's version, “monkeys” are replaced by “little princesses”, and “the doctor” is exchanged for “the goddess”, a lullaby she sings to her young daughter. Each member of Wonder Woman's task force is given a specific name “princess” number – like Donna Troy being the “third little princess”–and they use code language like “I hit my head” to confirm completion of your mission objectives. This personal touch shows how Diana's newfound motherhood is already influencing her leadership and team dynamics.
How powerful is Wonder Woman's new anti-sovereign task force?

There's no denying that Wonder Woman's task force is an incredibly powerful team, but how powerful? The best way to answer this is to look at each member's individual skills. In the first place, Wonder Woman is ranked by Screen Rant as the strongest female character in the DC Universe on our list of the 40 strongest female characters in the DC Universe, with Donna Troy not far behind in eighth place. Given that Wonder Girls Yara Flor and Cassie Sandsmark share similar power levels with Donna, they are also among the most powerful characters in the DCU.
Together, Wonder Woman and Wonder Girls bring a wide range of formidable abilities and weapons, including superhuman senses, strength, speed, endurance, durability, agility, reflexes, healing, flight, immortality, divine empowerment, and his iconic Lasso of Truth and Lasso of Persuasion. Additionally, Yara exercises hydrokinesis when using her Golden Boleadoras. While Cheetah may not rank as high on the power scale as these Amazons, the fact that she is considered a fierce adversary to Wonder Woman speaks to her formidable power levels and makes her a vital asset to the force- task. In short, Diana's anti-sovereign task force is a top-notch team.
Cheetah's inclusion in Wonder Woman's task force is a refreshing return to their original dynamic

While each member of Wonder Woman's team is notable in their own way, Cheetah's addition to the task force stands out, especially given her and Diana's complex relationship. While Wonder Woman #10 saw Cheetah agree to ally with Diana, seeing that actually happen in issue #15 was a totally different experience and a refreshing look at their dynamic. Longtime Wonder Woman fans are no doubt thrilled to see the friendship aspect of Diana and Barbara's relationship explored once again. However, it remains to be seen how long Cheetah and Wonder Woman will be able to put aside their iconic rivalry and work together.
