Clint Eastwood may have initially been known as an actor, in part due to his leading roles in Western films, including the iconic Dollars trilogy, but he is now known for his direction. Eastwood's first directing gig was Play Misty for me in 1971, and he followed that film with others like High Plains Drifter (1973), Outlaw Josey Wales (1976), Mountain range of heartbreak (1986) and, of course, Unforgivable (1992).
Eastwood continued to appear in films throughout the 2000s, but the 2010s saw his career shift to one more focused on directing. He gave audiences films like American sniper (2014), Stain (2016), and Ricardo Jewell (2019), while performing double duty as star and director in The mule (2018) and Cry Macho (2021). At 94, most in Hollywood would have long since retired, but Eastwood released another film this year, and it has been a critical and public success.

What Juror #2's VOD Performance Means for the Film
Eastwood's film deserved a proper release
Official domestic box office numbers for Juror #2 were not reported, but the shortened run apparently brought in less than $500,000. Internationally, however, the film performed very well, and the total abroad is US$18 million, with France alone contributing around US$10 million of this. The international box office numbers combined with the VOD performance certainly suggest that Juror #2 deserved a proper theatrical release in the US instead of the strange strategy by which Warner Bros.
Juror #2 It had an estimated production budget of $30 million, meaning its break-even point was likely at least $60 million. An enthusiastic marketing campaign combined with positive word of mouth – Rotten Tomatoes audience score is 91% – could have taken Eastwood's last film to that price. Even if that didn't happen, it probably would have been close enough that VOD performance could have made up much of the difference. It is possible that Juror #2 it will be Eastwood's last film, and if it is, it's a shame it didn't get the theatrical push it deserved.
