First revealed in XWestern variant cover by David Nakayama for Storm #4 – written by Murewa Ayodele, with art by Lucas Werneck – features Storm personifying the Old West with the tip of his cowboy hat, his look accentuated by matching gloves, denim leg warmers, a holstered pistol, and a bandana around his neck.

In some ways, a “cowboy” redesign is a rite of passage for comic book characters; For reasons that remain somewhat unclear but are evident, the idea of discovering what contemporary heroes would be like if they were transported back to the Wild West has great appeal among comic book fans. Equally surprising is the fact that these redesigns rarely fail to disappoint – and Storm is among the most visually dynamic yet, which is both a product of her versatility as a character and a sign of artist David Nakamura's skill.
As is the case with most variant covers, this cowboy cover for Storm Number 4 is not indicative of any canon stories coming to Storm's series, but just a fun cover to create.
