Run from: Black Crescent
Most Notable Appearance: The Book of Boba Fett
Black Crescent is a strange example of a bounty hunter because he didn’t start his career that way – he started as a gladiator. Soon after, he would go into the employ of Jabba the Hutt and become one of the crime boss’ best bounty hunters. Krrsantan also often proved that he is very capable of winning tough fights. He was known to use other Wookies as live bait, he had metal filings injected into his fists to hit harder, and he even went toe to toe with Obi-Wan Kenobi and lived. Anyone who found themselves in Black Crescent’s crosshairs didn’t stay there long.
After pulling himself out of the Sarlaac pit, Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) is kidnapped by the Tusken Raiders. But after gaining their trust, Boba is able to return to Tatooine and claim Jabba the Hutt’s throne with the help of Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen). Boba Fett’s book also led directly into The Mandalorian Season 3, which premiered in March 2023.

Run by: Zuckuss
Most Notable Appearance: The Empire Strikes Back
Bounty hunters are not a rare sight Star WarsBut Force-sensitive bounty hunters certainly are. The only Force-sensitive bounty hunter so far shown in Star Wars Kanon was Zuckuss, one of Darth Vader’s bounty hunters in The empire strikes back. While he was unable to find Han Solo and the Millennium Falcon Before Boba Fett, Zuckuss was still a threat in his own right. His Force sensitivity made him an excellent tracker, and his partner, 4-LOM, made them a dangerous double team. in Star Wars Legends, Zuckuss was an even bigger threat, and he was capable of killing anyone for any reason.
1980 saw the continuation of the Skywalker saga with Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Although it was the second film in the Star Wars series itself, it would be the fifth film chronologically in the Skywalker saga itself. Created by George Lucas and directed by Irvin Kershner, this sequel sees Darth Vader attempting to find the Rebel Alliance after they destroyed the Death Star.

run from: Cai Vanda
Most Notable Appearance: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
Caij Vanda didn’t do much actual hunting in Star Wars Jedi: SurvivorBut that didn’t mean anyone was safe around her. Caij was best known for tricking Cal Kestis into killing her opposition for her, then attempting to take the bounty on his head once it was large enough.. She was ruthless, efficient and incredibly seductive. Caij has angered enough powerful people that her bounty is great enough for Boba Fett himself, and the legend has even noted her ability to survive. Neither friend nor foe was safe from Kaij, so the best course of action would be to run at the sight of her.

Run by: Ax Tagrin
Most Notable Appearance: Star Wars Resistance
Star Wars didn’t delve much into the bounty hunters operating during the sequel trilogy, but of those it did, one hired gun stands above the rest: Ax Tagrin. Axis worked directly with the first order in Star Wars ResistanceAnd his hunt for Resistance spy Norath Kev proved that Ax is absolutely deadly with his conventional weaponry and his fists. He is able to take down both Synara San and Jarek Yeager in hand-to-hand combat at the same time. Anyone with a price on their head during the sequel trilogy would have to watch their back for Ax Tagrin.

Run by: Bossk
Most Notable Appearance: The Empire Strikes Back
Bossk was a bit of a trick. On the one hand, he was known to have a lot of personal honor and respect for the Bounty Hunter’s Guild and Code, and he even helped protagonists like Ezra Beeger in the past. On the other hand, Bossk was both literally and figuratively cold-blooded. As a Trandoshan, Bossk has a few reptilian abilities, like limb regeneration. He was also extremely violent: Bossk attacked Wookiees like Black Crescent on sight, and often did unspeakable things to his prey.. The safest bet would be to run from him, and not wait to find out if his honor or instincts would win out.

Run from: Embo
Most Notable Appearance: Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Embo was not such a dangerous bounty hunter because he was cruel: he was dangerous because he was often extremely efficient and unemotional. Embo rarely spoke, and he often served as a follower to another bounty hunter. He went about his work with surgical precision and a cold attitude, and there was nothing he would not do to receive his bounty. Embo was also one of the few bounty hunters who lived long enough to experience a peaceful death, which was a sign of his abilities.. If Embo took a bounty, very little would stop him from collecting on it.
The animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars takes place between episodes 2 and 3 of the Star Wars film saga. The fan-favorite series expands the story of the prequel trilogy through characters including Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka Tano and more fan-favorite Jedi.

Run from: IG-88
Most Notable Appearance: The Empire Strikes Back
If ruthlessness and bloodthirsty are necessary to make a good bounty hunter, IG-88 has a strong case for being the best. IG-88 was a rogue assassin droid, and his incomplete programming made him one of the most vicious bounty hunters in Star Wars And made him literally look for trouble. He was able to perform incredible feats due to his mechanical body and digital processor, and he became something of a legend in bounty hunting circles. IG-88 often prefers “dead” over “alive” for his bounty, so retreat is often the only safe option when dealing with him.

Run by: Aurra Singh
Most Notable Appearance: Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Only a handful of bounty hunters were able to go head to head with a Jedi and live to tell the tale, and Aurra Singh was one of them. Singh was active throughout the Clone Wars, and her missions often made her an enemy of the Republic. She was a skilled sharpshooter, an accomplished acrobat and a terrifyingly effective manipulator: she was partly responsible for Boba Fett’s villainy. Singh was also extremely brutal – she was known to kill unarmed and wounded prisoners, betray former allies and do anything to save her own skin.

Run by: Jango Fett
Most Notable Appearance: Star Wars: Attack of the Clones
Jango Fett is arguably one of the best bounty hunters ever, and almost certainly the most important. Jango was the genetic template for the Clone Army, and he is also the father of Boba Fett, one of the most legendary figures in Star Wars. He was also a legend in his own right, and his status allowed him to take on jobs against anyone, including the most powerful people in the galaxy. Jango had no qualms about taking on Jedi, taking money from the Sith, and running into situations that would get lesser hunters killed instantly.

Run from: CAD train
Most Notable Appearance: The Book of Boba Fett
Kad Ban is arguably the Platonic ideal of a Star Wars Bounty Hunter. He was brilliant: his plans consistently foiled and bested the Jedi. He was cruel and greedy: by his own admission, he would take any job for the right price, including those against children. He was fast: he beat legendary warriors like Hunter and Boba Fett in duels. Cad Bane had it all, and he was about as dangerous as a villain could be without a lightsaber or the Force. If Cad Bane had someone in his sights, even running wouldn’t save them.

Saved by: Asajj Ventress
Most Notable Appearance: Star Wars: The Clone Wars
About the only thing that could keep the most ruthless bounty hunters at bay Star Wars Is other bounty hunters, one with better moral codes. One such bounty hunter was Asajj Ventress, the first Sith acolyte turned hired gun (or rather, lightsaber). Asajj had a strong connection to the force, she was trained by Count Dooku himself, and she was one of the greatest fighters in the Clone Wars.. She also had a moral awakening later in her life, after she was betrayed by Doku, and she proved on many occasions that she was willing to help those in need, given that they touched her heart hard enough.

Saved by: Boba Fett
Most Notable Appearance: The Empire Strikes Back
For much of his life, Boba Fett was known as the bounty hunter who would get his jobs at any cost, including disintegration. However, after emerging from the Sarlacc Pit and spending time with a tribe of Tuskens, Boba was a changed man.. He was much more interested in protecting the people he ruled than the daimyo of Mos Espa, and in avenging the deaths of his lost family. He also lent his services to Din Jarin in his search for Grugo, which proved that if the need arose, he could be counted on. Grandma Fatt, that he should do the right thing.

Saved by: Fennec Shand
Most Notable Appearance: The Mandalorian
Like Boba Fett, Fennec Shand began her career as a vicious bounty hunter and assassin. She often took jobs of the various Star Wars Crime syndicates, and she would kill anyone that they wanted her to. Shame also proves that she has a strict code of honor, though, and that she is loyal to those who help her, like Boba Fett or the Bad Batch.. Fennec Shand’s previous life as a deadly sniper may not be completely in the past, but it would be a great advantage if she ever needed to protect one of the people she was loyal to.
2
Saved by: Bailert Valance
Most Notable Appearance: Star Wars: Bounty Hunters
Bailert Vallance, like many other bronze hunters, was a bit of an enigma. He was never completely evil or completely heroic, and he spent much of his life acting out of pure rage, fueled by revenge. Having said that, Valance was also a strong enemy of the Empire, and no other enemy of the Empire was a friend of his. Since the Empire’s enemies are often rebels and heroes alike, Bailert Valance can be trusted to lend a helping hand in a time of need, as long as he has to take a shot at an Imperial in the process..

Saved by: Dean Jirin
Most Notable Appearance: The Mandalorian
Hands down, the most outright brave bounty hunter in Star Wars was Dean Dzarin. Dean had his fair share of darkness in his past: he spent years as a solo hunter who would take any job he could get his hands on. This was always fueled out of concern for his fellow Mandalorians, however, and it all changed once he found his adoptive son, Grogu. From then on Dean got a lot better. He made countless friends across the galaxy, he came to the rescue constantly and willingly, and he put his life on the line for the people he cared about.
Star Wars is often a very black and white franchise, but bounty hunting allows for many different shades of gray. The stories that focus on them, such as the aptly titled long-running comic series Star Wars: Bounty HuntersHave quite a bit more room for moral ambiguity and mature themes than typical Star Wars Stories. Bounty hunters have so much potential Star WarsBoth allies and antagonists.
