While Dark Myth: Wukong offers some amazing mythic weapons and armor that dramatically improve the Destined’s abilities later in the game, there are also a handful of mythic drinks, sauces, crafting materials, medicines, and gourds. Players will find some of these items as they naturally progress through the game, while others require defeating difficult bosses or completing obscure side quests.
Some of these mythical items will complement the Destined’s journey, improving players’ health/healing or stamina, such as Celestial Pills and Mythical Gourds. While they may not be as flashy as New Game+’s mythical weapons, Each of the mythical items will have a notable impact on combat. Here’s a look at the mythical items in Dark Myth: Wukong, classified by overall impact on combat performance.
10
Mythical crafting materials
The Sky-Piercing Horn, the Sea-Supporting Sinew, and the Kun Steel
The mythical craft materials found in Dark Myth: Wukong are the Sky piercing horn
and Kun Steel
and are obviously not very impactful on their own. However, some of the most powerful weapons require these crafting materialsmaking them incredibly important in the Destined’s journey, especially in NG+.
Four sky piercing horns are needed to craft the Spine Shot Adept Fuban Staff
which can be acquired by defeating Fuban (twice), the Scorpion Lord, and completing Chapter 4. The Sea Support Tendon is dropped by Yellow Loong in Chapter 4 and is used to create the mythical Golden Loong Staff
. Acquiring Kun Steel is necessary for both staves in addition to the Black Iron Staff
and only six can be found in a single playthrough defeating five powerful bosses and finding an unassuming chest.
9
Loong balm
Wine burns like fierce flames, angers its smokeless dust
THE Loong balm
is the lowest healing mythical drink available in Dark Myth: Wukongalthough that’s not bad. It can be found in Chapter 5, making it one of the best options for a first playthrough. However, its relatively low healing effect is only slightly offset by the increased damage it provides when used. While this is a great option for a specific type of offensive buildthe 30% recovery of maximum health is minimal compared to other mythic options on the list.
To acquire the Loong Balm, players will first need to face the Guardian of the Flaming Mountains, who will eventually release the Yin-Yang Fish. This boss utilizes tricky black and white orb attacksbut after defeating him, players will find the Loong Balm near the throne of the Emerald Hall.
8
Monkey Beer and Jade Dew
The dew moistens the skin and a gentle breeze flows
THE Monkey Beer
and Jade Dew
are the penultimate and final updated version of the initial drink, the Coconut Wine
. In total, the Coconut Wine, which gives the Destined 33% health restoration when drinking the Gourd, can be updated seven times to eliminate Jade Dewwhich restores 55% health. These drinks are upgraded with Awaken Wine Worms, somewhat rare crafting materials obtained in each story chapter, including one at the beginning of chapters 3 and 4 that can be purchased directly from Shen Monkey.
These are among the most healing drinks in the game, but the downside is that upgrading to Monkey Brew and Jade Dew by collecting all the Awaken Wine Worms is a lot of work. While they are better overall than the Loong Balm mentioned above, they are neck and neck with the next entry on the list.
7
A thousand days of drunkenness
Drunkenness impairs movement
With a slightly better healing effect than Jade Dew and Monkey Brew drinks, A thousand days of drunkenness
“Recovers 60% of maximum health, but for a brief moment, drunkenness impairs movement.” This warning is more suffocating than it seems in the heat of battle and may not suit each player’s style. Every second counts in the fast-paced boss battles throughout the game, and impaired movement can be devastating if players are unfamiliar with its effect.
However, due to the ease of purchasing this Drink and the fact that it has such a high maximum health recovery, is a cut above the other mythical drinks available. The Inebriation of a Thousand Days can easily be found in the journey of the Destined. All players need to do is reach Chapter 6 and purchase the drink from Shen Monkey for 9,000 Will.
6
Flowers cousins
No curse, no gain
THE Flowers cousins
is a mythical Soak that enhances the gourd by removing all states of the Four Curses when used. This is useful for several bosses in later games and will make the NG+ experience much easier for the Destined. These can be purchased directly from Shen Monkey once the Destined reaches Chapter 6.
Each of the Four Curses can be countered with specific items or actions. Players can roll to alleviate the Burned status, use Body Warming Powder to combat Ice, Anti-Miasma Powder for Poison, and Shock Suppressant Powder for the Shocked state.
The Four Curses in Black Myth: Wukong are Frost, Scorch, Poison and Thunder, each of which inflicts a unique status – Chilled, Burned, Poisoned or Shocked, respectively – which can be instantly removed with Flower Primes. The Burnt state, previously seen with Black Bear Guai, deals damage over time, while the Chilled state slows movement and increases damage taken over time when broken, as seen in Lang-Li-Guhh-Baw. The Poisoned and Shocked states also deal damage over time and affect the Target’s performance.
5
The Celestial Pills
Celestial Nonary, Taiyi, and Jade Lotus pills increase health, stamina, and mana
Celestial Pills in Dark Myth: Wukong are mythical medicines that increase maximum Health, Mana, and Stamina as the Destined progresses through the story. Five of each pill can be collected in one playthroughwith one in each chapter of the story (excluding Chapter 6). THE Heavenly Nonary Pill
“enormously increases maximum resistance”, while the Celestial Jade Lotus Pill
does the same with health and Heavenly Taiyi Pill
to Manna. These pills can be purchased from Xu Dog in Chapter 2 and in the Zodiac Village, but players will want to collect all 15 in Chapters 1–5 to unlock the Medicine Meal trophy/achievement.
Players won’t go far Black Myth: Wukong no increase in stamina and health. AND with Mana being scarcethey will want to track down as many Taiyi Heavenly Pills as possible.
4
Guanyin Willow Leaf
This can save you from your situation
Guanyin Willow Leaf is another mythical Soak found in Dark Myth: Wukong, and one of the most useful in the game if used correctly. This Soak takes effect when the Destined is resurrected in battlerestoring all Gourd charges. Resurrection can occur with a powerful and mythical Tranquilizing Medicine (see below) or with the Life-Saving Thread. The Life-Saving Strand is a Strand Spell only found in NG+, and when combined with Guanyin’s Willow Leaf, players will have multiple chances to avoid death in combat.
The replenished gourd after resurrection will give players a huge advantage and often feels like a fresh start in a duel where the Destined almost died. Guanyin Willow Leaf can be purchased from Shen Monkey in NG+and is an essential complement to any construction.
3
Multi-Glazed Gourd
If good and evil do not receive due value, the prejudice of the ports of the Cosmos is true
Both the mythical Multi-Glazed Gourd
and Supreme Gourd
(below) are the two best gourds available in Black Myth: Wukongwithout exception. While both offer unique benefits, Multiglazed Gourd has fewer charges, though this is somewhat balanced by its unique effect, which Massively increases damage for a brief period after the final drink of the gourd is consumed. Depending on players’ preferences and approach to combat, this can be an extremely valuable option for builds focused on dealing high damage in short bursts, stacking with other buffs/debuffs.
The Multi-Glazed Gourd is also easier to obtain than the Supreme Gourd, only requiring players to reach Chapter 6 and buy the item from Shen Monkey. Players will have to decide for themselves whether this Gourd’s six charges and damage bonus are a better fit for their build than the Ultimate Gourd.
2
Supreme Gourd
Hard to beat ten gourd charges
Of all the gourds found in Dark Myth: Wukongthe Supreme Gourd requires more effort to acquire, but also offers more charges, which makes it essential for any type of construction. With 10 charges at the player’s disposal, boss encounters will feel more manageable and less attention will be paid to the conservation of Gourd charges. This equates to more freedom in combat and more chances to heal or invoke certain effects from Drinks and Soaks.
Ultimately, the sheer number of accusations is It’s worth the many upgrades required to get the gourd to its supreme level. Assuming players have upgraded it to level 9, they can acquire the Ultimate Gourd by speaking to the Old Man NPC in Chapter 4 and interacting with the fire located in the middle of the room.
1
Soul Remigration Pill
These pills aren’t just made from any lump of clay
The Soul Remigration Pill may be one of the most useful mythical items in Dark Myth: Wukong terms of its impact on combat. This mythical tranquilizing medicine “grants resurrection upon death before activating the Life-Saving Strand for an extended period,” giving players potentially multiple resurrection chances before the timer expires. They are quite limited until Destined One enters NG+, where the formula can be purchased from Xu Dog.
Overall, each of these mythic items will significantly improve the Destined’s abilities, though some have more widely applicable uses than others. No matter how players implement this into their builds there is no doubt that they will want to track each of these items and experience the advantages for yourselves. Whether combating the states of the Four Curses with Flower Primes or returning to life with the Soul Remigration Pill, these Dark Myth: Wukong mythical items should not be forgotten.
