Character and weapon banners will continue to change in Genshin Impact 5.0
These modifications will be permanently forward
As the developers announced during the version 5.0 livestream, which was broadcast on the official Genshin Impact channel on twitch, Both the limited-time character banners and the weapons banners will undergo some changes starting with the next update – Changes will be permanent and not limited to version 5.0 per CD. Overall, these modifications will increase players’ chances of drawing their desired 5-star character or weapon, respectively, shifting further away from the frustration of losing 50/50 pulls. Each of these Genshin Impact 5.0 banners will see different changes applied to them as they each have unique pulling mechanics.
Changes to limited character banners in Genshin Impact 5.0
Capturing Radiance has a chance to be activated with a loss of 50/50
The changes to the limited-time character banners, starting with version 5.0, are limited to the introduction of a brand new pooling mechanic called Capturing Radiance. When players activate a 50/50 5-star draw where they do not have the featured 5-star character guaranteed, They have a 55% chance of triggering the Capturing Radiance mechanic. This mechanic is represented by a special visual effect symbolizing it is triggered. When Capturing Radiance is triggered, the featured 5-star character in the banner is guaranteed to be in the 50/50 5-star draw. This applies to both new and rerun character banners in Genshin Impact.
It’s worth noting that this does not mean that players now have a 55% chance of pulling the featured 5-star over a 45% chance of pulling a character or weapon from the standard loot pool. Instead, players still have to dispute the 50/50 odds and, when they lose the draw, they have a 55% chance of triggering Capturing Radiance, which would then ensure the character they want. The limited-time character banners mechanic was created to reduce the frustration involved with continuously losing 50/50 pullsEven if players insure the featured 5-star character in Genshin Impact On losing a 50/50.
In essence, Capturing Radiance is a nudge to draw the featured character rather than a standard hero. This mechanic does not affect the base chance, per seBut allows players an extra and improved chance to circumvent the 50/50 loss. As such, it should be much easier to get the featured 5-star characters from version 5.0 onwards. However, this does not prevent players from losing the 50/50. If they lose the 50/50 draw, the next 5-star draw they are guaranteed to have the featured 5-star character in Genshin ImpactMaintaining the same rules currently applied to banners.

Changes to the weapons banner in Genshin Impact 5.0
Players now need to accumulate one fate point instead of two
In the weapons banner, the change is extremely beneficial for players. The epitomized path system is still in place but will be much less punishing starting in version 5.0. With the update, The number of Fate Points that players can accumulate will be reduced from two to one. When a new weapon event begins, players will still be required to select their desired weapon from the two available. If players draw a 5-star unit that is not the one they chose, the next 5-star draw is guaranteed to be the 5-star weapon they chose in Genshin Impact.
This is a massive change to what is arguably the worst pulling mechanic in the game. Currently, players need to accumulate two Fate Points to get a guaranteed draw for the 5-star weapon they want. This means that if players are unlucky and pushed to the hard pit of 80 will for every 5-star draw, They could see themselves spending a total of 240 wishes before they get the weapon they want. When pulling in the weapons flag, players can lose the 5-star draw to the other featured weapon or the 50/50 normal loot pool in Genshin Impact.
The reduced fate point count that will be applied with version 5.0 should significantly reduce the number of wishes to get the desired 5-star. Even if players are unlucky and pushed to the hard pit of 80 will for each 5-star draw, They will spend a total of 160 wishes to obtain the desired weaponAgainst the penalty of 240 strokes from before. This is a huge improvement and brings the weapons banner a lot closer to the standard applied to character banners but with a reduced heavy damage.
These changes will be big and should make the pooling experience much more pleasant, even if players are still subject to the possibility of losing their 50/50 pulls. In addition to this, HoYoverse also announced that players will be gifted one free 5-star character from the standard pool each year, which can help improve their roster of playable characters going forward – and even if they lose the 50/50, they Can still unlock constellations. Even if they do not affect the base draw rates in Genshin ImpactThe quality-of-life changes will likely make the Gacha system feel more worthwhile.
