I love Apple TV+ Bad monkeyBut I’m a little annoyed at myself for not seeing the third episode’s big twist coming from a mile away. The end of Bad monkey Season 1, episode 3, “Nobody Said He Was Alvin Einstein,” caught me off-guard, as I’m assuming the intent. But, in hindsight, all the signs were there for me to work it out for myself, and yet I didn’t. Regardless, it’s a brilliant find.
Vince Vaughn does a brilliant job of managing the Bad monkey cast, and it’s really fun to see him play a different kind of role compared to his more traditional characters. He’s long been one of my favorite comedic actors, and though he certainly gets chances to be funny in Bad monkeyHis dramatic moments also have room to breathe. As Andrew Yancey, his relentless pursuit of a case he’s not even assigned to is at the heart of the story, and episode 3 brings with it a huge and frustrating revelation.

Christopher being Caitlin’s dad in Bad Monkey is a twist that now seems obvious
There were clever signs that should have allowed me to anticipate the reveal about Rob Delaney’s character
From the start, the Apple TV+ adaptation of Carl Hiaasen’s 2013 novel has made no secret of Rob Delaney. Bad monkey Character being the main antagonist. that is, The show has cleverly hidden the fact that Christopher was Caitlin’s dad all along. Of course, the most important thing Bad monkey Could have provided before the ending of “No one said he was Alvin Einstein” would have been to show Christopher missing an arm, but that would have been a little on-the-nose, given the main evidence of the case.
Looking back at Christopher’s other Bad monkey scenes, Delaney’s character’s missing arm is always creatively disguised.
Looking back at Christopher’s other Bad monkey scenes, Delaney’s character’s missing arm is always creatively disguised. I also felt that Christopher was on the edges of the story, despite the fact that he was also pushed as a main villain. When Caitlin is reunited with the character who turns out to be her father – a man who was thought to be dead – the vague feelings I had about there being something off about Christopher all started to make sense. I could say that it was obvious, but then surely I would have worked it out before.
I doubt Bad Monkey Season 1 is done with its big twists
Apple TV+’s Bad Monkey will be 10 episodes long
Christopher is unveiled as Catelynn’s dad comes less than a third of the way through Bad monkeys run. The adaptation will eventually add up to a 10-episode season. Christopher’s revelation may seem like a big moment, but considering there are still seven full episodes to come after this twist, I’m sure even more dramatic revelations will happen before the story ends. If not, the rest of Bad monkey Would probably be a very boring ride.
