Marvel Studios has delved into animation, making a Disney-fed MCU project possible.
A social media post has rendered a handful of these MCUs Avengers in a classic Disney 2D animation style, and it looks more perfect than it has any right to be. Marvel Studios is now a subsidiary of Disney, which also owns the Star Wars franchise, although live action MCU movies are still far from the classic Disney offerings that are typically rendered in a distinctive 2D art style. Because the vast majority of MCU productions are PG-13, the franchise rarely ventures into the universally family-friendly territory typified by Disney’s animated movies.
After a Reddit user called @EMC676 used AI art creator Midjourney to imagine what the MCU’s core team, the Avengers, might look like if they were part of Disney’s illustrious animated offerings. The artwork was met with overwhelmingly positive responses from Marvel fans in the Reddit comments, with the top poster asking, “Anyone else want to see a what if episode in this animation style?”
Suffice it to say, seeing the likes of Captain America, Thor and Black Panther look like true-blue Disney protagonists is certainly off-piste – but no less magical. For anyone who grew up with Disney movies and has since moved on to the slightly less kid-friendly MCU franchise, the collision of two worlds evokes a nostalgia that begs exploration.

The Multiverse provides the perfect opportunity
Although the vast majority of its offerings are not part of the main story, Marvel Studios is no stranger to animated shows. Marvel Studios Animations emerged from several years of animated Marvel shows that count the likes of X-Men: The Animated Series And Ultimate Spider-Man Among its most famous. The most recent and more mature animations include What if…? And X-Men ’97With upcoming shows included Eyes of Wakanda And Wonder zombies.
All of the animated offerings offer their own styles, but nowhere on the MCU’s release slate is an animation that resembles Disney’s classic 2D style. But in the current era of the multiverse, A production that renders the MCU’s iconic roster in this particular style is more possible than ever. With this in mind, one question springs to mind: “Why not?“The MCU has, after all, already dipped its toe in”Disney Princess“Territory with The MarvelsWhere the titular team’s visit to Aladdin became a Disney musical sequence with a magical gown.
Spinoff shows how What if…? have opened the door to a plethora of possibilities, and it would be nostalgic and hilarious in equal measure to see The Avengers as part of a classic Disney movie. Wonder zombies is about to venture into animated horror, so a palette cleanser in the form of an Avengers tale would be just as bold and entertaining. Nevertheless, the chances of this happening are doubtful, and for now, Reddit’s content may be the closest we want to see what Disney did. MCU Project may look like.
