Flash is one of DC Comics’ most iconic legacies, and few heroes honor that legacy more than Wally West himself. Proving that he was truly the fastest man alive, Wally spent the majority of his career as the Scarlet Speedster, racing in the footsteps of his mentor Barry Allen. But when one misfortune changes Wally to the core, he gains an entirely new form of the Flash that leaves his mentor’s form in the dust.

Reflecting this change, the organization now operates as Wally West dons a new uniformupdating their iconic red and gold color with a new logo and mask. When Aquaman questions the wardrobe change, Flash replies dismissively, “Overdue. Last time I stepped out of Barry Allen’s shadow.“

This new look won’t last after Wally West and the Flash reunite, but that doesn’t mean it’s lacking in style. Against, the almost entirely red, heavily paneled uniform hints at a more practical level of protection. not unlike what Flash fans saw in the DCEU’s portrayal of the Scarlet Speedster. With built-in glasses and a stylish new Flash logo, the new form becomes uniquely Wally’s – or at least, Wally is devoid of any of the humanity that makes him a hero.
As both the Flash and Kid Flash, Wally West wore several different forms in his long fight for justice.
An important aspect of Wally West’s journey as the Flash is his reverence for Barry Allen and the other speedsters who came before him. When he first took on the mantle, Wally even wore Barry’s exact same uniform, only modifying it with his own flared flare when he felt more comfortable with the possibility of surpassing his old mentor. In the end, West truly surpassed Barry in both speed and status.but their shared uniform, even with Wally’s modifications, always brought them together. But without human respect for Barry Allen, this fully self-aware Flash needed to stand out on his own.

But unconcerned with the legacy that defines him, Wally West has been able to evolve on his own—even if Flash At the same time, the person became unrecognizable.
