Wukong and what they are used for

Dark Myth: Wukong contains a wide variety of useful items that will aid the Destined’s journey. One class of unique items are seeds that can be used in Zodiac Village to grow the many materials needed to craft Deadly Medicines. There are 15 seed drops in total Black Myth (a few drops yields two seeds) and collecting them all will award players the Seeds to Sow trophy/achievement.

Unfortunately, these seeds fall randomly and the timers take thirty minutes to reset once the plant is harvested. For this reason, players should harvest any and all materials they find while playing to avoid the need to farm later. Below are some recommended places in Dark Myth: Wukong to purchase each type of seed and an analysis of what each seed material is used to create.

The first two-for-one found from a singular seed

Aged Ginseng Seed and Millenium Ginseng Seed are the first two for one found from a singular seed, fell from Ancient Ginseng Guai in Chapter 3. The boss can be found near the Towers of Karma shrine in the Valley of Ecstasy, trying to collect a blueprint hidden in an obscure corner of the area.

From the shrine, go left towards the scythe enemy and follow the path to the right until it ends to find the plant in front of a statue. Giving this seed to Chen Loong in Zodiac Village rewards both Medicine recipes.

THE Fire Date Seed

it will be a later version of the game as it is mainly found in the Flaming Mountains. Players can search for the trees growing in the lava around the Valley Entrance Sanctuary in Furnace Valley, where seven Fire Dates can be collected – and eventually the Fire Date Seed. This area contains some shielded enemies, but most can be avoided.

The Fire Date is used to create Powder of Ascension, a Legendary Fortifying Medicine that cancels stamina loss for a short period of time, and the Septenary Heartfire Pill, a Legendary Tranquilizing Medicine used to instantly reset the cooldowns of all Spells.

Gentian Seed

Players can find gentian plants quite frequently throughout the journey

For the Gentian Seed

Players can find gentian plants quite frequently throughout the game and as early as Chapter 1, where they are scattered throughout the Wolf Forest. However, the best growing place for these is near the Brook of Bliss Shrine in the Valley of Ecstasy in Chapter 3, with five gentian plants available.

Gentian can be purchased in advance and is required for the Fortifying Medicine and Shock Suppressing Powder, which players will want to use against the final boss of Chapter 2, as it instantly removes the Shock state and increases Shock resistance.

THE Golden Lotus Seed

is the only one that must be obtained from a specific enemy, the Golden Lotus Guais found in Chapter 3 in the hills around the Warding Temple in the Pagoda Kingdom. For this reason, purchasing the Jade Lotus Seed

Purple and Nine Capped Lingzhi Seed

The player must look for the Lingzhi boss with nine cloaks in chapter 5

The Nine-Capped Seed & Purple Lingzhi is another combination, and once exchanged with Chen Loong, players gain access to both material recipes. For this seed, look for the Nine-Capped boss Lingzhi in Chapter 5a hidden enemy that emerges from the ground when the Destined interacts with a plant near the Ashen Pass III shrine.

While Purple Lingzhi

Whether players are trophy hunting or strategizing about which medicines to use in their next boss fight, a good understanding of seeds and materials is very helpful.

While it can be frustrating to get stuck on a 30-minute timer when trying to collect these seeds, knowing where to look will save players a lot of time in the long run. The best strategy for collecting these seeds and avoiding cultivation is diligence, collecting all seed that the Destined finds on his journey through Dark Myth: Wukong.
