While viewers get more shots of Lauren out of costume, a quick morphing sequence appears to show the Samurai Rangers transforming – but in the center is a black-haired woman who transforms into a Red Ranger costume, who is clearly not Lauren. Previous previews showed Lauren transforming into her regular red suit, but perhaps these new Rangers integrated into the franchise could use the morphers of former captive Samurai Rangers – perhaps in a desperate scenario – to acclimate to Rangerhood. If this is the case, then this will likely lead to the new Rangers eventually getting unique suits and their own morphs.

Is this new Power Rangers series related to MMPR BOOM! Row?

Eltarian Presence suggests the answer is: Yes

Comic cover: Eltarian propaganda featuring the Eltarian warrior Zordon with a child on his shoulder.

Notably, this series features the Eltarians (Eltar being Zordon’s home planet), as seen in previous previews, variant covers, and now the trailer. One black-bearded Eltarian echoes Zarthus, Elthar’s Silver Guardian and former ally of Zordon, who attacks him during Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Eltarian War Arc. If this is indeed Zarthus, then this series has a deeper connection to MMPR comics than previously thought. Hints of a new chapter once implied that it was a completely new chapter. Power Rangers universe, but fans Mighty Morphin can be glad that these new stories still have at least elements of this universe.
