After more than a decade and a half off the air, the hit 2000s sitcom Everyone hates Chris is coming back in an animated revival, and there’s a lot to look forward to Everyone still hates Chris. Developed for television by Chris Rock and debuting in 2005, Everyone hates Chris Dramatizes the comedian’s early life and chronicles a teenage Chris as he grows up as the black sheep of his eccentric Brooklyn family. The series was known for its sidesplitting humor, and was also the launching point for the career of Taylor James Williams.

In a crowded field of 2000s sitcoms, Everyone hates Chris was unique because of its semi-autobiographical nature and its meta-narrative. Although the series only ran for four seasons and ended in 2009, it has remained a fan favorite and has stood the test of time better than some of its longer-running contemporaries. Now, with more than a decade in the books since Everyone hates Chris‘ Finally, Chris Rock has developed a follow-up that will take Chris and the rest of the family into a new medium of animation.

A trailer has been revealed

Just days before the show’s premiere, Comedy Central dropped a full Trailer for Everyone still hates Chris. Narrated by Chris Rock, the trailer offers a glimpse into Chris’ family life while also teasing the tongue-in-cheek approach to the story. Chris not only has to deal with constant ribbing from his family, but he faces challenges from the outside world and their perceptions of him based on his race. As is the case with most animated series, The style of humor is more bombastic than its live-action counterpart.

Although the project was in the works for a long time before any updates surfaced, news is coming fast and furious in the second half of 2024. Now, Comedy Central has scheduled Everyone still hates Chris To premiere on Wednesday, September 25, at 10:00 am EST.

Although Everyone still hates Chris is changing mediums, not everything about the continuation series will be different from the original series. Although Taylor James Williams will not be returning, his former co-stars Terry Crews and Tichina Arnold will be back as Chris’ parents, Julius and Rachel. Assuming the role of Chris is newcomer Tim Johnson Jr.Who is best known for films like Pacific Rim: Uprising.

Chris’ siblings have also been recast with new actors, and Ozioma Akagha will play Chris’ annoying younger sister Tanya. Likewise, Terrence Little Gardenhigh will play Drew, Chris’ more popular brother. Chris Rock narrates the series once again, while Gunnar Sizemore assumes the role of Chris’ best friend at school, Greg.

Chris will continue to fight for attention from his overbearing parents as the middle child is lost between his awkward younger sister, Tanya, and his popular older brother, Drew.

Although many story specifics are still elusive, Everyone still hates Chris was pitched as a continuation of the original show that went off the air in 2009. With that in mind, It probably won’t make too many drastic changes to the basic formula and will see Chris continue to struggle to fit into a world that seemingly wasn’t made for him. Chris will continue to fight for attention from his overbearing parents as the middle child is lost between his awkward younger sister, Tanya, and his popular brother, Drew.

With the release date just around the corner, Comedy Central released a full Trailer for Everyone still hates Chris In September. Narrated by Chris Rock, the trailer introduces Chris and his struggles to fit in with both his family and the larger community. Like the animated series’ more outlandish approaches to humor, it’s clear from the trailer that the cartoon will take a more bombastic approach than the live-action version.

Everybody Still Hates Chris is an animated reboot of the original sitcom inspired by Chris Rock’s teenage years. The series continues to explore Chris’s experiences navigating youth in Brooklyn, highlighting the challenges and humor of growing up in a tough neighborhood.
