My Hero Academy typically does a phenomenal job developing its characters and delving into their stories, powers, and experiences. However, some of them deserve way more screen time than they got. Some characters only appeared briefly in films, while others were in the series but could have benefited from much more time in the spotlight.
Unfortunately, some heroes and villains with some of the coolest powers in the series haven’t been able to use them as often as fans expected. Deku, Bakugo, Shigaraki and All Might are very interesting and dynamic characters, but sometimes their prevalence in the story makes it difficult for other characters to shine. Now that the manga has been completed, it is easier to identify which characters throughout My Hero Academy It should have received much more attention.

Geten
Geten’s ice powers are very impressive, making him one of the most dangerous villains
Geten, also called Iceman, is one of the most attractive villains in the series, with a unique Quirk to wield ice. This villain’s Ice Ply Quirk allowed him to control ice and attack with it during the Paranormal Liberation War. Some other characters like Todoroki too have ice powers, but Geten’s are unique. Geten is much more powerful than the average Ice Bearer, giving him much more potential to perform dangerous attacks.
As one of the series’ strongest villains, Geten deserved more time to reveal what he was truly capable of, but unfortunately he only received limited scenes during the Meta Liberation Army arc. His battle with Dabi was cruel and proved that Geten’s abilities are equal to Dabi’s, who is one of the most formidable villains in the entire franchise. He was captured very quickly by Cementoss, taking him out of the Paranormal Liberation War before he could display the full range of abilities his Ice Ply Quirk offers him.

Godzilla
Godzilla only received a brief cameo in one film, hinting at Toho’s ownership of the Godzilla franchise
Godzilla only appeared in one My Hero Academy film, My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, but he made an incredible impression on fans in a short time. His appearance is exactly the same as Godzilla, intriguing fans of this film franchise. Toho is the name of his Quirk, giving him abilities similar to those of the popular and famous lizard hero, Godzilla, including tall stature and strength. Toho is also the name of the company that owns My Hero Academy and Godzilla, curiously.
He only really appeared in the film at the I-Island exhibition, showing the gigantic size he can reach using his powers. Viewers were disappointed to see this this brief cameo was Godzilla’s only appearance in the film or franchise not at all, as he never managed to fight in later battles. His split-second appearance was probably included since Toho owns the rights to both franchises, but it would have been awesome to see this Godzilla-like character fighting in the story.

Ochaco Uraraka
Ochaco is strong and caring and deserved more character development beyond her classmates
Ochaco Uraraka is one of the main classmates in Class 1-A and a close friend of the main character, Izuku Midoriya. Despite this fact, she should have been given more screen time and arcs that delved into who she is as a person, and not just her relationships with the people around her. His appearances in history often include her encouraging Deku and his classmates or fighting alongside others. in larger battles, but few stories focus primarily on Ochaco.
One of Ochaco’s main storylines was when she fought to save Toga from villainy and Toga unfortunately died saving Ochaco’s life. This was a very powerful and popular storyline that revealed Ochaco’s care for others, bravery, deeper feelings, and motivation to become a hero. Ochaco’s Quirk, Zero Gravity, also has several effective and creative uses. With more character development and attention, Ochaco could have become one of the series’ best heroes.

Nejire Hado
Nejire gets less attention than Mirio and Tamaki, her three great comrades, even though she is just as important
The Big Three constitute the most admired and respectable students at UA High, who possess the greatest number of accomplishments. This group consists of Mirio Togata, Tamaki Amajiki and Neijire Hado. Mirio perhaps gets the most attention in both the story and the fanbase, as he is UA’s #1 hero. Mirio played an important role in the Shie Hassakai arc, helping Sir Nighteye and UA save Eri from Overhaul. Tamaki also played an important role in the conflict, fighting villains alone and experiencing his internship with Fat Gum.
Of the trio, Neijire unfortunately received the least screen time. The Big Three wouldn’t be the same without Neijire’s joy, kindness and, of course, her Wave Motion Quirk, which allows her to launch waves of energy at enemies. She is equally important to the group, and even fought against Dabi during the Paranormal Liberation War arc. Much attention was paid to Mirio’s time at UA in particular, and his close friendship with Tamaki, but it would have been amazing to see Neijire receive the same development and screen time too.

Lord Nighteye
Sir Nighteye had one of the most useful powers in the series, foresight, and a fascinating personality
Sir Nighteye’s plot in My Hero Academy it was very brief, interrupted shortly after its introduction. Sir Nighteye, also known as Mirai Sasaki, was a key player in the battles against Overhaul and had crucial interactions with Deku that advanced Deku’s character development in the story. Mirai was very brave and determined not to let evil prevail, using her Foresight Quirk to effectively predict other people’s futures and plan accordingly based on that information.
Tragically, the Overhaul ended Sir Nighteye’s life, so he only appeared this season of My hero academy. Mirai’s Quirk was very valuable and special and could have been effective in future battles, but unfortunately he never had the opportunity to utilize it after the Shie Hassakai arc. Other storylines involving his character, such as Sir Nighteye’s fractured relationship with All Might, could also have been explored had he survived longer. It’s a shame that Sir Nighteye passed away so soon, because he had incredible potential and was one of the most compelling heroes in the series.

Giulio Gandini
Giulio is persistent, powerful, and a fan favorite, so he should have been included in the show too
The star of My Hero Academia: You’re Next film It was, without a doubt, Giulio Gandini. Giulio was tasked with caring for Anna Scervino, a woman with an uncontrollable and potentially dangerous Quirk called Overmodification, which amplifies the Quirks of others. When she was kidnapped by Dark Might Giulio stopped at nothing to get her back risking his own life to save the woman he loved with all his heart. Giulio’s Quirk is Neutralization, allowing him to stop the negative effects of Anna’s Quirk.
In fights against Dark Might, Giulio showed incredible persistence and pure physical strength, two qualities that made him an almost unstoppable fighter. Giulio could have been a valuable asset elsewhere My Hero Academy battles, and he worked very well with Deku and his UA comrades once they got over their initial disagreement. Giulio definitely would have fit in well with the rest of the series and should have appeared in more than just one film.
2
Momo Yaoyorozu
Momo’s creation quirk is the most limitless, giving her infinite possibilities of items she can create
Momo’s Quirk, Creation, could very well be the strongest and limitless Quirk of My hero academy. By harnessing her Quirk, Momo can create anything she chooses as long as it’s not living, which obviously opens up endless possibilities for her. She created everything from cannons to masks, from dolls to weapons. There’s practically nothing she can’t engineer out of thin air, which makes her one of the best fighters in Class 1-A, as all she needs is imagination to take down an enemy.
Despite his absolute power, Yaoyorozu is underestimated and underused in the story. She does have her moments of creating effective fighting tools in battles with her teammates, but she could have been an absolute powerhouse in battles against the series’ toughest villains. More time definitely should have been devoted to showing off Momo’s Quirk in all its incredible glory.
1
Fumikage Tokoyami
Tokoyami’s Dark Shadow Quirk is one of the most powerful in Class 1-A and deserves more attention
Fumikage Tokoyami is one of the best students in Class 1-A, who unfortunately does not always receive the respect and attention he should. Dark Shadow, his Quirk, allows him wield a shadow-like sentient being that is very strong and terrifying. However, his Quirk is difficult to control and often becomes undisciplined and dangerous, such as during the Forest Training Camp arc when he lost command of the Quirk.
Despite its impressive power, Tokoyami is one of the least used heroes in Class 1-Aunfortunately, often fading into the background while the main characters fight. With practice and mastery of his Quirk, he could become one of the greatest heroes of all time. Watching Tokoyami learn to properly wield his Quirk and unlock its full potential could be very intriguing, and he definitely deserved more time in My Hero Academy to perform this task.
