Ben Stiller declares his return to acting as his first movie with leading role in 7 years premieres

Before Nutcrackers Premiering at the Toronto Film Festival, Ben Stiller addresses it as his first leading movie role in seven years. Directed by David Gordon Green, the movie, which also stars Linda Cardellini, The work-obsessed real estate developer, Mike (Stiller), has to go to rural Ohio to care for his nephew after the death of their parents. The 2017 film Brad’s status is the last time Stiller has a leading film role, as he has spent the last seven years more involved in a behind-the-scenes role for Apple TV + severance and other projects.

While talking with Variety, Stiller clarified that he does not intend to take the seven-year hiatusBut that it happened because of many factors. One of the main reasons was stalling production severance Season 2 during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes.
