Futurama characters are transformed into hyper-realistic versions (including a disturbing-looking Zoidberg)

Futurama The characters are reimagined in hyper-realistic form in a new batch of AI images. Created by Matt Groening, the hit animated sitcom first aired in 1999 chronicles the misadventures of Philip J. Fry (Billy West), a pizza delivery boy who is accidentally frozen in 1999 before waking up in the very different world of 2999. Futurama Recently returned for season 12 on Hulu, bringing the show’s animated world back to life, as well as characters like Bender (John DiMaggio), Leela (Katey Sagal), Zoidberg (Billy West), Hermes Conad (Phil LaMarr) and Professor Farnsworth (West), among others.

until now, Futurama Seasons have kept the show firmly in the realm of animation, which is in keeping with Groening’s other work in the sitcom space. As seen in the images above, the jump to live-action would be a major change for FuturamaAnd one that would give the whole enterprise a very different flavor. While key figures such as Fry, Farnsworth, Leela and Bender are not shown in the pictures, Zoidberg and Keefe’s appearance changes make the character more unsettling.

Others in the US Futurama Cast characters, however, like Hermes and Zapp, look much more like their animated counterparts. If human figures like Early and Farnsworth followed the same trend, they would likely look very similar as well. Leela, with her one eye, however, could end up closer to the Zoidberg end of the spectrum, which could change the nature of the Frey and Leela dynamic.

as with The Simpsons, The animation in Futurama is a large part of its charm and humorAnd the show may lose some of its appeal by leaving this behind. What’s more, the show’s 2999 setting would be prohibitively expensive to convince off in any other medium. While it would be interesting to see Futurama In live-action, it is probably the best that remains in the world of animation.
