Jenna Ortega is already part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but I’d rather see her return to the superhero realm with a new role in James Gunn’s DC Universe than see the actress return to the MCU. Chapter One of the DCU already has several films and TV shows announced, with Gunn revealing that more than half of Chapter One projects are still secretteasing how many other DC heroes and villains could still join the DCU. Any actor cast in the DCU is expected to play their character across all media.
This would be perfect for Jenna Ortega. The actress has already appeared in the MCU, playing a secondary role in a single film. Unfortunately, someone as talented as Ortega didn’t have a long relationship with the MCUnot even getting to play a superhero. While I understand that Marvel didn’t anticipate that the actress would become as popular as she did when Ortega appeared in the MCU, I’m convinced that the star’s entry into DC would be better than if Ortega played a new character in the MCU. DC has a perfect next film for her to star in.
Jenna Ortega had a minor role in a major MCU film
The star did not play a superhero
Jenna Ortega’s only appearance in the MCU comes in the form of Robert Downey Jr.’s final solo film as Tony Stark, Iron Man 3. The actress appeared briefly in the film, with Ortega playing the daughter of the Vice President of the United States. It makes sense that Ortega didn’t land a major role in the MCU, as the actress was only 10 years old when Iron Man 3 was released in 2013. Although Ortega’s character didn’t do much, she was the motivation for her father’s decision to work alongside Aldrich Killian.
The vice president saw Extremis as a way for Jenna Ortega’s character to gain a new legsince the young woman only had one. Although Ortega contributes to an emotional part of the film, the actress’ role ends up being forgotten among all the great heroes and villains that have appeared in the MCU. Ortega only had a few roles under his belt when Iron Man 3 was released, so asking her to have a major role in the film would have been too much, but she deserves one now if Ortega appears in a new superhero film.
I want to see Jenna Ortega finally play a superhero
The actress became a rising star
Since his brief role in the MCU, Ortega has become a rising star in Hollywood with roles in popular films and TV series. Ortega appeared in some prominent roles early on, but it was in recent years that the actress began to transform into someone every studio would want to cast in one of their productions. Netflix You It was perhaps the first brick on this new path in the actress’s career, and I thought Ortega’s innocent but courageous Ellie had brilliant chemistry with Penn Badgley’s serial killer, Joe Goldberg.
Ortega would then appear in two Scream films, playing a prominent role in them. Ortega also performed perfectly as Astrid Deetz in Beetle juice Beetle juicecontinuing a relationship built on their biggest role in a Tim Burton-related series. My favorite acting role, and the one that made Ortega’s popularity soar, is that of Wednesday Addams on Netflix Wednesday. The series has become a worldwide sensation, with a second season in production. After Wednesday and her other high-profile projects, Ortega is now a big draw, and I think playing a big hero in the DC Universe suits her.
Jenna Ortega’s perfect superhero role is in the DCU, not the MCU
A team of superheroes is coming to the DCU
While Ortega could very well end up playing an MCU superhero, as other Marvel actors have been recast in the franchise after initially playing smaller roles, I think his ideal superhero lies with DC. Jenna Ortega would be perfect to serve as Ravenone of the most important members of the Teen Titans. Given how hell Ortega played a darker character who is smart but not as well-versed when it comes to the emotional side of things, she would be able to make Raven as appealing as she is in the comics.
James Gunn has yet to confirm that Raven and the rest of the Teen Titans are coming to the new DC Universe. However, a Teen Titans movie is reportedly in the works, with Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow writer Ana Nogueira writing the script. With the team’s greatest nemesis, Deathstroke, also getting his own movie, it looks like the superhero squad will actually be hitting the big screen in the future. I am sure that Jenna Ortega could easily be one of the stars to anchor a Teen Titans movie, with Raven getting the superhero role she deserves.
