Animated-style covers really put the “Disney” in Marvel comics
An animated Marvel TV show in this style would look amazing
Mark Brooks has illustrated over 200 redesigns of beloved Marvel charactersheroes and villains last year, and these variant covers only depict 54 of their characters. Originally calling the art “Disneyfied Marvel”, the official title is now “Animated-Style”, which now has a cool custom logo for each cover. Most of the characters shown are X-Men related – including fierce villains like Mister Sinister and Mojo – because there are more X-Men books today than any other Marvel franchise.
“I have so much more to show and even more I want to draw. I couldn’t be more thrilled to see them grace the covers of some of my favorite books and I hope the public enjoys collecting them as much as I enjoyed creating them.” ” !”
Brooks’ art transforms some of Marvel’s most serious characters, like Hulk and Thanos, into truly adorable, bright-eyed cartoons inspired by classic Disney art. With huge eyes, bright colors, and cartoonish poses, these animated-style makeovers beg the question: “Now that Disney owns Marvel, why isn’t there a TV series in this style?!” Not only is the style incredibly nostalgic, especially since Brooks has placed some of the characters – like Synch, Storm, and the Scarlet Witch – in classic costumes, but the overly expressive characterization is perfect for the Marvel comics drama. Some highlights of the art are Colossus posed as Gaston’s Beauty and the Beastthe adorable Lockheed, and how epic X-Men hero Chamber looks.
Mark Brooks promises more covers to come depending on the response

Over at More, Brooks Is Still Releasing New Animated Style Makeovers Every Few Dayswith his latest creation being a gorgeous redesign of Wiccan, which ties in perfectly with the character’s recent debut in Agatha all the time. From beloved heroes like Iceman and Jubilee to fierce villains like Shadow King and Arcade, these animated-style variant covers can last forever.
While Mark Brook’s “Disneyfied” X-Men art began as a personal project, it’s so exciting to see this creative “fanart” turned into official Marvel Comics variant covers, and we hope even more are revealed in the near future.
