Given that she only recently regained these abilities, the transformation is all the more impressive. It’s clear that the Gotham City siren is done holding back and ready to show her true power.

The fact that Ivy is inside the plant avatar and controlling it makes this form remarkably similar to the Jaegers in Pacific Rim.

Leah Williams, Ted Brandt, Daniel Hillyard and Ro Stein’s Gotham City Sirens #4 takes Catwoman, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy on a Wild West adventure as they confront Punchline and her violent, illegal, energy drink-sponsored hunting operation that endangers both wildlife and Gotham City residents.

Gotham City Sirens #4 Plant Zombies

To avoid the Sirens, Punchline unleashes a horde of factory zombies, quickly overwhelming Harley, Ivy and Dumb Bunny. Although this move seems counterproductive at first, It leads to Ivy creating a giant plant form of herself made from the zombies.

Poison Ivy Ultimate Form Gotham City Sirens #4

Ivy’s giant plant avatar is towering, putting even DC’s Giganta to shame. Aside from its immense size, the form also mirrors Poison Ivy’s character design as DC chooses to depict her as more plant than human. in other words, Ivy’s avatar has green, vine-like skin and ‘hair’ made of thick bundles of thorny brambles. In addition, various zombie limbs protrude from the ‘skin’ of the avatar, serving as a stark reminder of how the form was created. Thus, it is important to note that the Avatar fans see is something like Ivy grew up, rather than the Gotham City Siren herself.

Although the plant avatar is separate from Ivy, she maintains full control from inside his head, peering through a circular yellow membrane to observe the events outside. Ivy uses this avatar to flick Punchline’s helicopter out of the air like a leaf blowing past. Her ability to grow such a massive and powerful plant avatar is particularly impressive She only recently regained her plant-controlling powers at G. Willow Wilson’s Sam Ivy Run. One might assume Ivy would need time to work up to such a powerful feat, but she manages to create this formidable form with little effort.

Poison Ivy’s Ultimate Form is basically the DC version of Pacific Rim Massive mechs

Ivy creates her version of Pacific Rim Jaegers (and yes, it’s totally badass)

The fact that Ivy is inside the plant avatar and controlling it makes this form remarkably similar to the Jaegers in Pacific Rim. Jaegers are giant humanoid mechs used to fight massive alien monsters called Kaiju. These mechs typically require two or more pilots, as the mental strain of controlling such a large machine often leads to neural overload. Therefore, while Poison Ivy’s Factory Avatar closely resembles Jaegers in both build and function, her feat is even more impressive as she can pilot it on her own.
