All the major deaths of Phase 5 of the MCU so far

Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)

continues to expand, but as the franchise gets bigger and goes through each new phase, there are times when significant characters pass away, and Phase 5 has done an excellent job of handling those moments. Since the very first MCU movie. Iron Manthe franchise was able to use character deaths as a meaningful emotional trigger. Tony’s only friend and ally, when captured in the cave, sacrificed himself and inspired Tony to continue moving forward. And in the same film, Tony’s former friend and colleague, Obadiah Stane, meets a tragic end after exposing his villainous nature.

Death is a powerful tool in any story, inspiring and evoking a wide range of emotions, and as the MCU progresses, they continue to feature powerful and emotional death scenes. Marvel’s Phase 5, in the middle of the Multiverse Saga, has a noticeably lower death count than Phase 3, which concluded the Infinity Saga, but is clearly heading towards the epic final chapter of this entry, Phase 6. Keep in mind, most of these deaths serve to inspire and push the heroes to greatness, or they occur as they complete their incredibly dangerous missions. But Marvel has also done an excellent job of adapting these moments into the films in which they appear.

Starts with the death of MODOK’s own version, a giant flying head who used to be a villain in Ant-ManDarren Cross. In the Quantum Realm, Darren upgrades his damaged body from his last encounter with Scott to become a robotic supervillain. However, during the events Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniahe sees the error of his ways and sacrifices himself when he leads a direct attack on Kang. His death scene was played for laughs, with Darren mentioning absurd ideas about his new Avenger status, but it still feels emotional and fits the tone of the film.

Despite MODOK giving his life to try to stop Kang, the Conqueror manages to inflict much more damage before his time runs out. Ultimately, however, Scott and Hope gain the upper hand and defeat this option after a short but grueling battle. Kang almost escaped the Quantum Realm, but thanks to Scott’s quick creative thinking and Hope returning at just the right moment, they were able to push him back before he faded out of existence.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 stands out as one of the most emotional films in the trilogy, but more than that, it may be one of the most emotional films in the entire MCU. Through flashbacks to when Rocket Raccoon was young and held captive by the High Evolutionary, other animals that were experimented on were introduced. And while the deaths of Lyla, Teefs, and Flor happen off-screen, they remain some of the most heartbreaking and emotional moments in the MCU. They were killed by the High Evolutionary due to his experiment on them being completed, and thus they were exterminated unnecessarily.

Soon after this, GotG Vol. 3 another powerful character is also killed, but with less emotional connection. Aisha is the ruler of the Sovereign, the golden nobles who served the High Evolutionary. However, she is also the mother/creator of Adam Warlock. Although she was not a friend of the Guardians, her death played a role in Adam Warlock’s beginning to make independent choices and ultimately side with the heroes.

Maria Hill

Secret Invasion remains one of the weaker shows on the MCU roster, but the first episode did have an explosive scene when Maria Hill, a high-ranking S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, was killed by a Skrull disguised as Nick Fury. Maria has been a major movie character ever since. Avengers back in 2012. She remained Fury’s closest friend and confidant, and her murder came completely out of the blue. While the rest of the series went downhill, this scene remains a well-crafted and deeply emotional moment of the series.

Talos is another character who has been involved in several projects and was first introduced in Captain Marvel. By then Secret Invasion happens, his daughter Gia grew up and became a real rebel. However, Talos held to his own belief that humans and Skrulls could live together in peace. This belief in both species leads to Talos losing his life to the corrupt and misguided rebel Skrull leader Gravik, who inflicts a mortal wound on Talos.

In one of the most controversial moments Secret Invasionwhen the special effects were actually a spectacle of flaws, one of the biggest battles plays out between Gia and Gravik. Previously, G’ia hung on Gravik’s every word and, like many other Skrulls, supported his mission against the humans. However, after seeing the depth of his cruelty and manipulative abilities, not to mention the fact that he killed her father in cold blood, G’iya begins an intense battle with Gravik. Using the same super-DNA combination to become a super-Skrull, G’iya is able to fight and completely destroy Gravik in battle.

Raava was one of the Skrulls who infiltrated the human government at the highest levels. By taking on the identity of Colonel James Rhodes, he was able to get close to the President and manipulate decisions. However, Nick Fury was able to convince others that there was an impostor hiding under Rhodes’ skin and eventually uncover the deception. In a tense moment with the President standing a few feet away, Raava is exposed and Fury manages to fire a high-precision shot that saves the President and takes down Raava.

IN MiraclesCarol Danvers and company came face to face with the powerful Kree warrior Dar-Benn. Dar-Benn held a grudge against Carol after Carol’s actions to save the Kree ultimately left their planet barren and devoid of sunlight. After Carol realized her mistakes and tried to correct them, Dar-Benn continued to seek more power in an attempt to destroy her, but after she obtained two ancient ribbons imbued with cosmic and magical energy, it was something more than her mortal body. was able to cope and it fell apart.

Deadpool and Wolverine was one of the biggest celebrations of a Marvel property ever seen in the MCU. Throughout the film there were gratuitous cameos and appearances from previous Marvel films, such as Chris Evans returning to play Johnny Storm, a character he previously played in the 2005s. Fantastic Four. However, Johnny Storm’s time in the MCU was cut short when Cassandra Nova flayed him before he quickly dropped dead.

While Cassandra was able to quickly eliminate Johnny, Deadpool, Wolverine and the gang were able to exact revenge on her group of Void mutants. The main characters were joined by X-23, Elektra, Gambit and Blade, who mowed down these villains with incredible strength and speed. However, Piro, Cassandra’s former right-hand man, was actually killed by Nova when she discovered his betrayal and grew tired of his lies. In total, many of these mutants were killed in this epic but short battle.

Another good guy got hurt during Deadpool and Wolverine film “Nicepool”. Nicepool is a variant of Deadpool that still has his face completely intact, as well as some other important differences from the others. Namely, Nicepool does not have regenerative healing abilities. Even though Deadpool could heal from any injury, he chose to avoid temporary pain by using Nicepool as a body shield, allowing the variant to be riddled with bullets from the many other variants shooting at him.

Finally, the last death in Deadpool and Wolverine He was expected to be one of the main characters, but thanks to plot armor and the success of the franchise, they both survived. When Cassandra Nova tried to use the reality ripper to destroy the timelines, Wade and Wolverine descended into the heart of the machine, where the power to run it came from. In an incredible display of heroism, they both risked their lives to destroy the machine, which then pumps its reality-destroying powers through both of them and Cassandra Nova. Nova’s lack of healing factor meant that she was quickly shredded and removed from reality.

Sharon Davis, formerly known as Mrs. Hart, was the unsuspecting person Agatha dragged along on her adventure down the Witch Road. Road tests are incredibly dangerous even for supernatural beings, but for humans they are unlikely to turn out well. During one such test, Sharon unfortunately died because she was not given the cure for the poison before the timer expired.

Alice Wu-Gulliver is another member of the makeshift clan that Agatha gathers to travel the road. Unlike Sharon, she is a witch, and along the way she managed to find her magical spark and break the curse hanging over her family. During the journey, Alice became close to the rest of the coven and even began to protect Agatha. When trying to save Agatha from possession, her powers were restored, but this was not in Alice’s favor. Agatha, revealing her true colors, attacked Alice after she was freed from her possession and stripped Alice of her powers to the point that her body was drained of life, making it one of the most tense and treacherous deaths in history. MCU to date.
