“Across the Spider-Verse” Jessica Drew is Spider-Society’s secret weapon against multiverse threats

Warning: Contains spoilers for Spider-Society #1The version of Spider-Woman First seen in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has finally made her Marvel Comics debut, and she may be Spider-Society’s only hope. When this version of Jessica Drew comes out, Miles Morales, Anya Corazon, and many of the other established Spider-Men don’t know who she is. That’s why the villains don’t know her either, making her the perfect secret weapon against multiversal threats.

In this film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Jessica Drew of Earth-332 and Spider-Man 2099 are the creators of a new version of the Spider-Society, a team of Spider-Heroes from across the Multiverse. in Spider Society #1 by Alex Segura and Scott Godlewski, Earth-332’s Spider-Woman is one of the few Spider-Heroes saved by Madam Web from the new team of multiversal villains, the Evil Squadron.

This is the character’s official first appearance on Earth-616, Marvel’s main comic universe continuity, as her first comic appearance was in Edge of Spider-Verse #4, but that was a flashback that took place in her home universe.

The version of Jessica Drew first appeared in the pages of a comic in edge of spider-verse #4, written by Nilah Magruder with art by Marcus Williams, but it was in her own universe. If the logic of the character’s appearance in the film and in Spider Society #1 is to be followed, Earth-332 is implied to be an animated universe outside comic continuity, and the art depicting the events of the comic is just that, a depiction of those events. If one sees the Jessica Drew with an adventure, unless it is animated, it cannot be accepted as reality.

Now there are not only alternate universes and timelines to keep track of, but the actual artistic medium that the character is depicted in creates new versions of already known characters. With this in mind, the versatile possibilities for more secret weapons and adventures is already hard established in Over the Spider-VerseWith many other versions of Spider-Man, such as the 1967 animated series Hero, and Insomniac’s PlayStation exclusive version of the character.

The upcoming Spider-noir Series with Nicolas Cage will hopefully answer many of the questions surrounding the existence of the alternative spider-heroes. This version of Spider-Man exists in an interesting place that could answer many of the questions surrounding the existence of Earth-332 and the rules of the new multiverse, as he appears in video games, animation and comics books, and will soon be live action, all portrayed or implied to be portrayed by the same actor. With the new revelation that all Spider-Heroes exist in comic continuity, the possibility for Madame Web to debut even more “secret weapons” is endless.

in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, When Spider-Man 2099 explains Spider-Society and the broken multiverse to Miles, a very important image of Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man from Spider-Man 3 Out. Maguire is shown trying to tear the Venom symbiote from his face, implying a universe where the two are never separated at the end of the film. Tom Hardy’s Poison The universe is also accessible to the Spider-Society, as Spot, played by Jason Schwartzman, happens to be in the convenience store that the Lethal Defender visits.

Although it may seem like a small detail, the appearance of the Spider-Woman of Over the Spider-Verse It seems that finally, a showdown between all the various Spider-Men of each universe, across all artistic mediums, can finally happen between the pages of a comic book, even if it never happens on the big screen.
