The cast of The boys reunites as filming for the Prime Video series’ final season is set to begin. The boys season 4 ended with a revolutionary change as Homelander (Antony Starr) now controls the new President of the United States, Steven Calhoun (David Andrews). Homelander is the president in all but name, and now has an army of supers under his command. With the show coming to an end, The boys Season 5 will be the last opportunity to defeat Homelander.
On Instagram, actor of Breast Milk Laz Alonso shared a photo of The boys cast reuniting as they prepare to film the series’ final season. In addition to Alonso, the film includes Starr, Jessie T. Usher, Jack Quaid, Karl Urban, Chace Crawford, Nathan Mitchell and Colby Minifie, who play the respective roles of Homelander, A-Train, Hughie Campbell, Billy Butcher, the Deep, Black Noir II and Ashley Barrett. What This Means for The Boys Season 5
The program is on track to launch in 2026
Alonso’s photo confirms that filming The boys season 5 is about to start, what is consistent with showrunner Eric Kripke previously sharing that filming would begin in late November. Many members of The boysThe cast of characters has already reunited as they prepare for the end of their stories. Season 5 will be the last time these characters share the screen together, barring any future appearances in the spinoff series Generation V, Vought risingor any other spinoffs.
With filming starting now, The boys season 5 should premiere in 2026. This would be consistent with the two-year hiatuses between Seasons 2 and 3 and between Seasons 3 and 4. However, there will still be new stories from The boys‘universe debuting in 2025 with the release of Generation V season 2. Production has already finished Generation Vsecond season, and with the release before The boys Season 5, the events of the original show’s final season will take place after the spinoff’s Season 2.
Our opinion on the boys’ cast reunion
It’s bittersweet
Seeing the cast reunite ahead of season 5 filming is bittersweet. It’s always exciting to see the cast together and know that the story is set to continue and end after the dramatic ending of The boys season 4. At the same time, it’s hard to know that This is the last time the cast of the Prime Video series will come together to film the show This was one of the best in recent years. For now, the expectation for The boys season 5 overcomes any disappointment with the show’s ending.
