How the bazaar ranked game works

Hearthstone player Reynads’ new card-based auto-fighter The Bazaarhas finally become widely playable on PC and Mac and allows players to compete against each other in Ranked mode. Although the game went through many changes throughout its development, the final product was successful in capturing a fan base from both the card game and auto-battling audiences. With a mobile launch planned, it is becoming a major competitor to major genres like TFT and Hearthstone Battlefields.

With plans to enter a free open beta in December, an even larger influx of players will join The Bazaar shortly. While it offers a simple tutorial for new players, the information provided is mostly relegated to in-game explanations. While helpful, they don’t provide much detail about exactly how their rating system works. Similar to other card game draft systems such as MTG: Arena draft mode and Hearthstone competitive mode, Playing ranked in the Bazaar requires tickets, which can be acquired through various game activities.

The choice of game mode is made right before entering the game. After hitting the prepare button, players will choose between two modes: Ranked and Normal. The rating itself requires a ticketwhich can be obtained in several ways, while the normal game can be accessed freely. Completing a ranked run grants progression of your chests and ranks based on your performance. Similar to MTG Arenadraft mode, Performance is measured in player wins, with chest rewards and rank points based on slightly different win thresholds.

The chests themselves contain cosmetics and an associated gem reward, depending on the rarity of the cosmetic. The lowest gem reward is currently 35, with the highest being somewhere around 60. In addition to purchasing the founder’s edition, cosmetics can only be earned through these ranked chests. There are a variety of them to unlock, from hero skins to different board appearances, all designed to be tradeable between players.

How to Win Ranked Tickets

Three Methods of Earning Tickets

There are some main methods to earn ranked tickets in The Bazaar. The first is by achieving 10 victories in normal free play mode. As the name suggests, this mode has no daily game limit or ticket earnings. Although completing a streak of ten victories is not an easy task, comparable to first place in TFT, It’s a consistent way to learn the game and gain entry into ranked mode. Players also receive a free entry into ranked mode dailyoffering the player, at the very least, a chance to obtain cosmetics, gems and improve their rank.

Players can also buy classified tickets using 100 gems. As mentioned, gems are earned with each chest opened. They can also be purchased through microtransactions, with the price currently at 100 gems per dollar. The minimum $5 purchase will net you five runs in ranked play, with the opportunity in those runs to earn enough gems to keep the ranked grind going. Fortunately, the current setup offers plenty of opportunities to enter the ranks for free and is a solid system as The Bazaar turns into one of the best card games.
