Rip Wheeler
Cole Hauser
At the end of yellow stone Season 5, Rip will be in Yellowstone. After a brutal but successful fight for land, We hope Rip continues to maintain the Dutton legacy as part of the sixth generation of Duttons and spouses protecting him. One of the growing issues of yellow stone The story of Season 5 is whether Rip or Kayce will officially run the Yellowstone ranch at the end of Season 5, and the answer is that there is no clear answer yet, as Rip told Lloyd in Episode 10.
Rip and Kayce could run the ranch together as there is a lot of work to be done. An alliance between the two could serve the ranch regardless of who is in charge. If Kayce manages the land and livestock, Rip can support him. If Kayce wants to take a backseat and focus on his family, he can still help Rip, leaving the legacy open to Tate. Regardless of his status, it’s hard to imagine midway through Season 5 that Rip would leave the ranch or Montana.

Kayce Dutton
Luke Grimes
Although Kayce’s fate is uncertain, he will take control of the ranch as the only surviving biological son of John Dutton III. Still, Kayce struggled with his destiny throughout yellow stone since serving as a Navy SEAL, not knowing where he should be. The father needs to protect his family, and Kayce has visions of yellow stone Season 4 and spiritual experiences with a wolf that guide your path forward. Monica Long-Dutton
Kelsey Asbille
Whatever happens in yellow stone 5th season, Monica and Kayce’s drama is apparently behind themand she will be with Kayce and Tate wherever the family decides to settle. Whether the family gets to keep the farm or not, they have settled into an old house on the property and it looks like they will stay there. If they sell the ranch, or Kayce decides not to run it, Kayce’s family will still be able to trade their house and land outside of whatever deal is on the table.
Although Monica has a brief career as a teacher at Heartstrong Middle School and Montana State University, the character hasn’t had any strong backstory outside of the drama that unfolds within her family. In yellow stone Season 5, Part 1, Monica and Kayce lose their second child, John Dutton IV, after the baby dies from injuries sustained in a car accident on Monica’s way to the hospital. Tate Dutton
Brecken Merrill
At the end of Season 5, Tate will decide if he wants to run the ranch. Whether Kayce will continue to fight for the ranch depends on Tate’s wishes in episode 10, with Tate’s father clarifying that his son is free to act on whatever future he chooses. Still, after reflecting on the time he spent with his grandfather on the ranch, memorably spending summers at cowboy camp, Tate will likely realize the significance of his heritage and rise to it.
If Tate decides to run the ranch, that doesn’t mean he can. The ranch’s fate is still uncertain following John Dutton’s death, and the ranch may not remain in the family long enough for his grandson to inherit it. All things considered, however – all the dangers of yellow stone Season 5, the previous seasons and the events in 1883 and 1924 – it makes sense that the Duttons would prevail. With that in mind, we hope Tate is getting ready to run Yellowstone – and he has a foster brother to help.

Carter
Small Finn
Rip clarifies in “The Apocalypse of Change” that Carter always has a house on the ranch, so that’s where he will be at the end of yellow stone season 5. Like Rip, Carter is a member of the farm, destined to work his land for decades. Carter joins the Dutton family tree because he gravitates towards Beth after losing his father, leaving him an orphan. Beth takes Carter under her wing and despite yellow stone Season 5 changing Carter’s story, this is where he will stay.
The only problem for Carter staying on the ranch would be if somehow the Duttons couldn’t or chose not to keep the land. Still, after losing their father, the remaining Duttons will likely double their efforts to save him. If the ranch changes hands, or if Beth and Rip move to some other state, Carter’s fate will be less stable. Carter will likely follow his adoptive parents if the ranch ceases to exist. However, if Beth and Rip leave the ranch while it is still in operation, Carter will stay, as the ranch is the biggest constant in the young man’s life.

Jamie Dutton
WesBentley
Things aren’t getting better for Jamie as yellow stone season 5 reaches its peak. Beth promises that she will kill her brother, and the younger sister usually follows through on her threats to Jamie. Each chapter of yellow stone proved that Beth and those closest to her, Rip and now Kayce, can end a life. Furthermore, the Duttons killed for much less than their patriarch’s downfall. As such, Jamie is unlikely to survive season 5.
yellow stone had many shocking deaths during its run, and Jamie’s will be topping the charts if he doesn’t find a way to save himself.
Aside from Beth’s compelling promise to kill her brother, Jamie doesn’t have any promising storylines that can continue past Season 5. The installment focuses exclusively on Jamie’s death, meaning it’s the end of the line. Jamie’s son and son’s mother haven’t been seen since yellow stone Season 4, and the only person who is part of Team Jamie in Beth and Jamie’s war is Sarah Atwood (Dawn Olivieri). yellow stone had many shocking deaths during its run, and Jamie’s will be topping the charts if he doesn’t find a way to save himself.
1
John Dutton
Kevin Costner
We know John Dutton III is dead after the shocking premiere of Season 5, Part 2, but his death in Taylor Sheridan’s film yellow stone universe is disputed. Beth and Kayce witness the scene of their father’s suicide at the Montana governor’s mansion. Yet, Beth isn’t convinced her father would end his life in this way, considering how hard he fought to protect himself, his family and his legacy. In the middle of the way yellow stone Season 5, Beth’s theory about Jamie and an accomplice killing her father is just a theory.
While Kayce investigates this theory, some of John’s closest people, such as his grandchildren, Tate and Carter, are those who suffer most from his death. Carter feels like John Dutton “to give up” him, and Tate struggles to process his grandfather’s death because of the way he supposedly died. If they can find their father’s killer, Beth and Kayce could potentially clear things up about his death, clarifying what happened to John Dutton III in yellow stone.
