Civilization 7 made a big change with the change in how players go through the life of a civilization. The Age of Exploration takes the player from localized power struggles to a global stage of competition and cooperation. You will need to cross large oceans, discover new continents and meet previously unknown civilizations. Diplomacy takes on new complexities as empires compete for control of lucrative trade routes and newly discovered resources. It feels like the game gets a lot bigger, much like the previous games but tweaked slightly.
The Age of Exploration is just the Middle Ages, but it brings a whole new civilization for players to choose from and lets them decide where their empire will go. While it may make players feel bad about losing their starting civilization, the game is designed so that your previous civilization affects your newer one. This is all part of the way the developers have ensured that players aren’t overwhelmed by the amount of micromanagement that can happen in a late game. Civilization.
The Civ 7 campaign will have three civilizations to play
A new choice for every age
Civilization 7 introduces a three-age structurefundamentally altering traditional gameplay. Every age – Antiquity, Exploration and Modernity – represents a distinct chapter in human history, complete with its own unique set of civilizations, resources, technologies, units, buildings and even game systems. Each age makes players choose a new civilization to play, meaning players will choose three civilizations before the game ends. This segmented approach aims to fix the endgame experience in previous Civilization titles. Civilizationwhile fun, it tends to turn into crushing micromanagement by the end of the game.
By dividing the game into these distinct eras, players find a more focused experience in each, which keeps things balanced and should prevent one civilization from dominating the entire game. The Age of Antiquity begins at the dawn of civilization. Players establish their empires by focusing on fundamental technologies and building their power bases.
The resources available are those prominent during this early period, and the civilizations are chosen from those that flourished at that time. The focus will then shift during the Age of Exploration. This was when societies crossed the oceans and found new cultures and lands. Technological advances in naval capabilities and global trade will be the focus.
The final phase, the Modern Age, presents the most technologically advanced civilizations and weapons. The focus changes significantly, possibly emphasizing industrialization, advanced weaponry, and diplomacy, or a combination of these. This is where players can finally focus on winning. Developers essentially took the first and the middle part of a regular Civilization game and ensured that players could do this three times so that no one could gain an early advantage and secure victory from there.

It seems that the developers believe that it makes no difference that the player is losing their civilization over the years. However, this is just further proof that Civilization 7 may be missing the mark. Unfortunately, it’s clear that players can only use these civilizations during the Age of Exploration, and they will be lost when the era ends.
Will Civilization 7 confirm more civilizations before release?
Are more civilizations coming?
Yes, the developers will confirm more civilizations before the Civilization VII release, but it’s doubtful they’ll confirm any for Exploration or Antiquity. There have been nine and ten civilizations revealed for these eras, but very few have been confirmed for the modern era. Based on what was revealed previously, we know that there must be enough civilizations for each age. This means the developer will reveal at least nine civilizations of the modern era before the game’s release.
It is doubtful that any new civilizations would be introduced in the Ancient and Exploration Eras. It takes a lot of work for a developer to add a new civilization because of the units, models, buildings, and more. The game is expected to have at least 28 civilizationswhich is more than enough. It already seems Civilization 7 will have one of the largest numbers of civilizations to choose from in the base game.
