I completely understand why Joe Locke cried on the set of Agatha the whole time

Joe Locke had an emotional reaction during filming Agatha all the timeand I completely understand why after learning about the behind-the-scenes of production. While the series wasn’t expected to make a huge impact, let alone happen in the first place, it’s a pleasant surprise how successful it ended up being among fans. A big reason for this is the brilliant casting of each character. We already knew that Kathryn Hahn’s return as the witch Agatha Harkness would be incredible, and she was supported by a talented supporting cast.

Even though the relationship between the members of Agatha’s clan starts off rocky, their chemistry truly blossoms as the trials progress. One of the most notable castings was Joe Locke in an initially mysterious role. Many already suspected his character’s identity, so it was even more exciting when he finally was confirmed to be the reincarnation of Wanda’s son, Billy. Locke’s passion was evident in his performance, so it’s no wonder the actor became emotional during filming.

Joe Locke’s reaction to seeing the set of Agatha All Along makes perfect sense

The practical set was extremely impressive

The documentary Assembled from Marvel Studios: The Making of Agatha All Along made it very clear how much effort went into making this show. In what has become unusual for many MCU projects, most of the sets and effects in Agatha all the time they were practical. A real-life version of the Witch’s Road was constructed for filming, and effects such as water flooding the first trial and the coven flying on broomsticks were also practical. Locke said that when he first came on set, he hugged Hahn and showrunner Jac Schaeffer and “I started crying.”

Locke’s emotional reaction makes perfect sense considering how much passion was put into this project. As an actor, seeing the setting of your story truly come to life must be impressive. The practical Witch’s Road is truly impressive, and if the viewer can feel it through the screen, then there’s no doubt the actors would too. Especially for a promising young actor like Locke who hasn’t done many projects, stepping onto the impressive set of a major studio show in which you’re one of the main characters is a huge moment in anyone’s career.

I’m glad the cast of Agatha All Along enjoyed making the MCU show so much

The documentary showed their bond

At the end of the day, the actors on a project are simply doing their jobs. However, we as viewers can really tell when there is genuine passion and chemistry there. The reason the coven’s growth felt so authentic was because the Agatha all the time cast got along very well. This is talked about throughout the documentary, from reading Hahn and Locke’s initial chemistry to the aforementioned casting text chain.

The crew also seemed engrossed in their work, insisting on making the practical effects work to improve the look of the final scene. The cast had a lot of admiration for what the production managed to create, both in the physical sets and in the videography. Mixing the care that went into creating the series with how much fun the cast seemed to have, it’s no wonder the relationships in Agatha all the time It came out so naturally.

The Agatha All Along cast’s connection to the MCU makes its future story even more exciting

The remaining Coven was prepared to return

At the end of the series, only a few members of the coven remain. Locke’s Billy, Sasheer Zamata’s Jennifer, and Aubrey Plaza’s Death Survived the Roadand Agatha still exists as a ghost. With how Marvel has interrupted each of their stories, they will certainly return at some point in the future. Jen, now fully empowered, has set out on her own, Billy and Agatha are on the hunt for Tommy, and Death will always be nearby. The studio left their endings open so there would be possibilities to return to their stories later.

With the success of the show, there is a lot of anticipation for these characters now. Although Agatha makes a point of saying that she is a covenless witch, she certainly still has a soft spot for her temporary coven and there is a strong chance that their paths will cross again. It will be good to see them return to the screen, and even better to see the actors themselves reacquaint themselves with how well it turned out the first time around. Knowing how much Agatha all the time cast loved working on the series, they’re certainly looking forward to its return as well.
