Along with the Deetzes and Michael Keaton’s Betelgeuse, only one supporting character from the 1988 horror comedy returns in Beetlejuice 2s figure. This happens to be “Little” Jane Butterfield, the now grown realtor daughter of the Maitlands and Deetses’ first realtor, Jane Butterfield. The sequel doesn’t bring back the Deetzes’ friend Otto (actor Glenn Shadix died in 2010), Dick Cavett’s Bernard, the Dean couple, Beryl, or Grace from the original movie’s iconic “Day-O” scene, but Beetlejuice 2 After explaining the aftermath for one of the characters after Betelgeuse’s antics in 1988.

Maxie’s survival finally ends speculation that the thin couple were killed in Beetlejuice
The crash in the roof did not kill Maxie and Sarah Dean
Considering Maxie and his wife, Sarah, were launched through the roof of the Winter River House head first by Betelgeuse.It was a long-standing theory that the thin couple died in BeetlejuiceIt’s the end. It was unlikely that the two would have survived the crash through the roof and the fall back to the ground, but Beetlejuice 2 Confirms that at least Maxi lived through the ordeal. Considering the rest of the bunch who experienced the “Day-O” possession dance were left unmentioned in the sequel, it’s unclear what exactly happened to them after facing Keaton’s Betelgeuse.
