X-Men Updates an Underrated Movie Villain With a New Type of Adamantium

Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Wolverine #3! Although iconic, 20th Century Fox X-Men the films have only scratched the surface of several characters featured throughout the franchise, including and especially the villains. Many bad guys were introduced and killed very quickly, and others were little more than cameos. One character in particular received such treatment, making her a terribly underrated person. X-Men movie villain. Luckily, though, that’s not the case in the comics, as the villain in question has just been upgraded with a new type of adamantium.

In Wolverine #3 by Saladin Ahmed and Martín Cóccolo, Wolverine has teamed up with a Wendigo and is on the run from Department H officers who are trying to capture Wolverine and his new ally after suspecting them of being responsible for a series of grisly murders in the Canadian Outback . The real culprit for these murders is a villain named Silas Burr, aka Cyber, whose skin (apart from his face) is made of adamantium. While Wolverine and the Wendigo pay for Cyber’s crimes, Burr himself is in Japan, deciding to go after Lady Deathstrike.

In the first edition of this new Wolverine series, Cyber fought Wolverine in the Canadian wilderness and was defeated. The sound of their united adamantium awakened an ancient, sentient metal that considers itself the only true metal on the planet, while all others are beneath it. When Cyber retreats to a nearby cave to lick his wounds, the sentient metal infects him, turning his adamantium to gold and taking control of his mind. And now, in Wolverine #3, this metal also infected Lady Deathstrike, adding her to his growing golden adamantium army.

Lady Deathstrike has never been more of a threat to Wolverine

Marvel Comics can redeem Lady Deathstrike’s lack of shine X-Men Film appearance

Lady Deathstrike from X2: X-Men United.

While her mind is lost, Lady Deathstrike has received an unprecedented update, especially with regards to her seemingly long-standing conflict with Wolverine. Deathstrike has wanted to kill Wolverine since learning of his existence, as she sees him as an insult to her family, as her father invented the process of coating bones with adamantium, and Logan’s procedure was not sanctioned by him. Now, Lady Deathstrike is possessed by a supernatural entity who feels basically the same way about everyone who is bonded to adamantium, and with her help, Deathstrike can finally defeat Wolverine.

If Lady Deathstrike were to expose Wolverine to this ‘golden adamantium’, then he would fall under her curse and become yet another member of her ever-growing army. Wolverine would be effectively defeated, and all it would take was a scratch from Lady Deathstrike. Lady Deathstrike has never been that big of a threat to Wolverine, which greatly redeems her threat level in the film X2: X-Men United. In that film, Lady Deathstrike is taken down by Wolverine insanely quickly and is only a secondary villain from the start. Now, Lady Deathstrike could very well be the only villain to take down Wolverine permanently.

Lady Deathstrike’s Adamantium Upgrade Could Be the Key to Her Redemption

Wolverine could save Deathstrike’s life, making them new allies

Lady Deathstrike being carried by Wolverine.

Even though Lady Deathstrike has been Wolverine’s enemy since her debut, her new ‘gold adamantium’ upgrade could change that completely. While she’s never been a greater threat to Wolverine than she is now, Lady Deathstrike herself is also a victim of this sentient metal. Therefore, if Wolverine were to somehow free his mind and body from this entity, Lady Deathstrike might be willing to forget their long-standing rivalry, and perhaps even become a new lifelong ally of Wolverine from that moment on.

While there’s no guarantee that Wolverine will be able to free Cyber or Lady Deathstrike from the grip this ‘golden adamantium’ has on them, the only thing that’s certain is that Wolverine will be ready for the fight of his life when he gets in. in action. toe-to-toe with this newly updated Lady Deathstrike. And once they have their inevitable battle in this new Wolverine series, X-Men will have officially redeemed Lady Deathstrike’s less-than-stellar appearance in the films.
