Tobi is Obito
The masked man was more familiar than Kakashi thought
The Masked Man’s identity was in question for much of Naruto. He was a mysterious force of evil who seemed to know much more than he let on at every turn. He was always one step ahead of Naruto and was more than happy to gloat whenever he could. He was able to maintain his identity as “Tobi” throughout most of the Fourth Shinobi World War, but was only exposed when Naruto hit him in the face with a Rasengan.

When Kakashi learned that Tobi was actually Obito, he was devastated. Obito became one of the most evil people in the world and was single-handedly responsible for countless atrocities. Obito retrieved the Nine-Tails from Kushina by killing Naruto’s parents, was a major proponent of starting the Fourth Shinobi World War, and did much more. The reveal was so effective because it made sense and built on what was previously established in the Obito series.

Naruto and Sasuke – reincarnations
They always had potential, but this was something else
Naruto and Sasuke were always in a league of their own. Sasuke was strong enough to leave the village alone at an early age, and eventually found powerful allies to support him. Naruto became powerful enough to surpass the Hokage before he was 20 years old. While both of their potentials can be explained to some extent, their power is fully realized when It was revealed that Naruto and Sasuke are actually the incarnations of the sons of the first shinobi.

Asura and Indra were the children of Hagoromo Otsutsuki. Sage of the Six Paths and son of Kaguya Otsutsuki, creator of all chakra. Their strength was legendary, as they were the progenitors of the Uchiha, Senju and Uzumaki clans. They were the first users of Ninjutsu, and the chakra gave Naruto and Sasuke the power they needed to seal Kaguya and protect the Earth once again.

The Akatsuki leader consists of several entities
When Jiraiya went to Amegakure to find out who the leader of the Akatsuki was, he found the worst answer possible. First, he found Konan, one of his former students, standing guard over a villainous group. After capturing her, he fought someone with the Rinnegan, which led him to believe that Nagato was behind everything. After battling one of the Paths of Pain, he fought two more before facing all six at once.
He didn’t quite understand it, but he saw that Yahiko, another one of his former students, was among the Paths. Pain stated that Nagato was dead before jumping in to kill Jiraiya. Jiraiya was no match for Pain and their many bodies, but before he died, he was able to send a secret message back to Konoha. He gave them a vital hint before he died in one of the saddest deaths in history. Naruto.

The Fourth Hokage is Naruto’s father.
Naruto is not just an orphan
For most of the series, Naruto was alone. He was a problem child because as a child he had no one to discipline him. Most people thought that Naruto’s parents must not have been such good people if they abandoned their child at birth, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Naruto’s parents were two of the most noble, caring and kind people in Konoha. When it was revealed that Naruto’s father was none other than the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze,
Naruto met his father and had an emotional moment. He started their conversation, angry at his father for all the weight he put on Naruto’s shoulders. After his anger subsided, he was filled with an ocean of sadness, mourning the difficulties he had to face alone. Minato is a great father, he listened to his son and gave him the explanation he deserved.

Naruto and Pain had the same mentor
Jiraiya taught them both
Naruto hated Pain so much that it drove him crazy. When he found Nagato after the battle with Pain, he put aside his anger. He thought about Jiraiya’s words and decided that if he killed Nagato, the cycle of violence would never end. He asked Nagato to tell him his story and how he became Pain. Nagato indulges the jinchÅ«riki by revealing his past as a war orphan. He also informs Naruto that Naruto’s former master, Jiraiya, also belonged to Nagato.
Before Naruto became known as the Child of Prophecy, destined to lead this world to light, Nagato was the Child of Prophecy. He was the child Jiraiya believed in before he believed in Naruto. Being students of the same master, Nagato understood Naruto’s feelings and sacrificed himself to revive all the people in Konoha that he had killed.

Origin of Kakashi’s Sharingan
The Beginning of the Copy Ninja
Kakashi has always been a private person. He hides most of his past, abilities and even his face from the people around him. Although Kakashi has access to some of the most powerful jutsu in Narutohis strongest ability comes from his Sharingan. Kakashi is known as the Copy Ninja for his ability to copy any ability he sees only once, allowing him to make an insane amount of moves in battle. However, members of the Uchiha clan are the only people who have the Sharingan, so it doesn’t make sense that Kakashi has it.

Kakashi got his left eye from his former teammate Obito Uchiha. Obito was on the verge of death, and Kakashi had just lost his left eye in the middle of the battle. Obito gave Kakashi his own eye, while simultaneously giving Kakashi an insane boost in power.

Black Zetsu stabs Madara in the back
Madara had the whole world in the palm of his hand
Madara was unstoppable when he was reanimated during the Fourth Shinobi World War. He was the most powerful one-man army when he first entered the battlefield, single-handedly killing hundreds of soldiers in an instant. When he gained his living body, he became even stronger, eventually acquiring two Rinnegans and becoming more of a god than a human. Madara looked like he was almost guaranteed victory until Black Zetsu stabbed him in the back.
In one of the most shocking moments in anime history, Black Zetsu reveals his plans to Madara. Naruto and the rest of the audience. He says that his real plan was not to support Madara, but to revive the Mother of Chakra, Kaguya Otsutsuki. If Black Zetsu had not stopped Madara, who knows how the Uchicha warrior would have stopped.

Aliens/Gods are real
Kaguya ÅŒtsutsuki is more than a myth
Last arc Naruto: Shippuden took the series in a completely different direction. The main villain of the final arc, Madara, became too powerful for Naruto and Sasuke to handle. He was killed by a deus ex machina method, stabbed in the back by one of his men. Not only is one of the greatest villains in Naruto unceremoniously killed but then it was revealed that Black Zetsu was actually working for an alien/god all along.
This is the most dramatic plot twist yet Naruto. The entire series revolves around villages, jutsu, and battles, which makes the last-minute addition of alien ninjas pretty absurd. Luckily, Naruto and Sasuke are also incarnations of previous ninja gods, giving them a chance against a new enemy. Although it was a disappointing end to Madara’s story, Kaguya managed to showcase some unique abilities that added life to the series at the end.

Pain is a puppet
Nagato is the true leader of Akatsuki.
Payne is one of the best anime villains. His backstory makes sense, his powers are absurd, and he brings freshness to the ninja series. When Jiraiya travels to Amegekure to find out who Pain really is, he has more questions than answers. No one truly understands what Pain is until Pain invades Konoha. The residents of the Village Hidden in the Leaves do not know what to do with each of the bodies. If it weren’t for Naruto’s Sage Powers, the village would have been fried.
Pain’s Six Paths of Rinnegan is his strongest ability. He can control six separate bodies at once, each with their own top-tier jutsu.. His main body, the Deva Path, is also capable of using one of the most powerful jutsu in the world. Naruto through his Almighty Push and Pull.

Itachi’s True Intentions
Itachi only played his role
Itachi Uchiha is one of the most tragic anime characters. He was a gifted ninja who carried the weight of both his clan and village on his shoulders. When Itachi heard that his clan would rebel against the village, he had to make a decision. He could either watch his clan and village kill each other, or make one suffer and let the other survive. He decides to destroy the entire Uchiha clan, sparing no one except his younger brother Sasuke.
Connected
Sasuke dedicated his rise to revenge for his clan, only to discover his brother’s true intentions after he was defeated. He learned of the proposed Uchiha rebellion and that Itachi only stopped it to protect Konoha. This is the biggest plot twist Naruto and one of the most important moments in Sasuke’s character development.
