The LEGO Ninjago Movie

Ninja spin-off didn’t work

Director

Charlie Bean, Paul Fisher, Bob Logan

Release date

September 21, 2017

Writers

Hilary Winston, Bob Logan, Paul Fisher, Kevin Hageman, Dan Hageman, William Wheeler

lead time

101 minutes

Directed by Charlie Bean, Paul Fisher and Bob Logan. The LEGO Ninjago Movie follows a group of teenage ninjas as they defend Ninjago City. The city is constantly under attack by Lord Garmadon (Justin Theroux), and his son Lloyd (Dave Franco) and his squad of ninjas must repeatedly stop him. When Lloyd tries to use the Ultimate Weapon (laser pointer) to defeat his father, a cat named Meowthra destroys the city. This sends the team on a quest to find the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon to save the city from Meowthra’s attacks and defeat Garmadon once and for all.

Essentially, it’s just a less convincing rehash of everything described in The Lego Movie.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie maintains the light and fun tone that audiences have come to expect from the series up to this point, and the jokes and inclusion of real-world elements in Ninjago make it an easily digestible adventure. However, it is in many ways simple a less convincing paraphrase of everything that has been described The Lego Movie. The father-son relationship is back in the spotlight, but there isn’t much development on either side. This fractured dynamic does provide material for some good jokes, but it doesn’t have the payoff to make it truly satisfying.

Other Ninja Force characters also don’t get significant roles, so the talents of Kumail Nanjiani, Michael Peña, Fred Armisen, and others aren’t used well. The film also doesn’t seem to take place in the same LEGO universe as the other installments in the franchise, as it relies on Jackie Chan’s narration and introduction, making it even more memorable. Ninjago there are still some nice momentsbut it lacks the uniqueness of the other entries, making it an obvious choice at the end of our list.

The Pharrell Williams film is more biographical than the LEGO film

Director

Morgan Neville

In parts is perhaps the most unique of Lego films from a plot point of view. Rather than maintaining the imaginative narrative and world of the previous films, it shifts focus entirely and brings the real world to life, but in LEGO form, to tell the true story of musician and producer Pharrell Williams. Describing his rags to riches story, his thoughts on humanity and more, In parts not like other films in the franchise. If it weren’t for LEGO’s animation style, they wouldn’t have any real connections or similarities.

This dichotomy makes In parts a strange entry in the franchise. The film works well as a standard Pharrell Williams biopic, showing most of the key moments and relationships from his life. It can’t cover everything, but In partsThe film’s soundtrack is superb and maintains the energy as the film reveals new layers to Farrell’s life story. It’s certainly informative about his career and prospects, which is why the film ultimately at its best as a biopic.

LEGO’s animation decision for Piece by Piece seems more of a gimmick.

This makes the LEGO animation solution for In parts feels more like a gimmick than a decision that was made to directly improve the story. Looks like someone else Lego films, but the approach is completely different. Apart from a few scenes showing Farrell’s imagination, In parts Doesn’t take full advantage of the creativity that a building block toy provides in this format. The film is still good and a great way to explore some parts of Pharrell’s journey, but it’s not as bold or original as the music he often creates.

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part

Continuation of how to be yourself

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part brings back the characters, creators and world that audiences originally fell in love with. Mike Mitchell is set to direct, while Phil Lord and Chris Miller continue to be creatively involved in telling the next chapter of the story. The main part of the sequel takes place five years after the original, where Bricksburg has turned into an Apocalypse due to the invasion of the aliens DUPLO. When Emmett’s best friends are taken away by General Mayhem from the Systar system, it’s up to him and his new buddy Rex Dangervest to save them and their universe.

Continuing the main story, The Lego Movie 2 this is a worthy continuation and come back for the franchise. This time around, the story centers on the relationship between a real-life brother and sister, as their different playstyles and ages disrupt the foundation of this LEGO reality. Full of jokes and The Lego Movie 2The music adds memorable new characters, such as Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi, played by Tiffany Haddish. At the same time, there are times when the jokes come on too quickly and the character balance isn’t as strong as what the franchise has seen before.

A valuable message that can be conveyed primarily to a younger audience.

After everyone was told they were special in the first movie, continued here to remind them that the most important thing is to just be yourself. It’s a worthwhile message to send to a predominantly young audience, and for those with siblings, the story will resonate even more. Good The Lego Movie 2 far outweighs the few areas in which it struggles, so while there is good reason to believe it could rank higher on this list, it simply won’t crack our top two.

LEGO Batman Movie

Holy great Batman spin-off!

Director

Chris McKay

Writers

John Whittington, Jared Stem, Erik Sommers, Seth Grahame-Smith, Chris McKenna

lead time

The first real spin-off in this universe. LEGO Batman Movie is a borderline Batman parody film while still being respectful of the character’s long history. The film features the return of Will Arnett’s Batman, who this time embarks on his own adventure in Gotham City. Directed by Chris McKay, the story pits Batman and the Joker (Zach Galifianakis) against each other in classic fashion, but in which the Joker rats out all of Gotham’s criminals to prove that he is Batman’s greatest enemy.

You can still honor the Dark Knight and have fun at his expense at the same time.

After so many iterations of Batman on the big screen, ranging from campy to very serious, Lego Batman has arrived to remind everyone that you can still honor the Dark Knight and have some fun at his expense at the same time. It was a refreshing change of pace that allowed audiences to laugh at and sympathize with Batman’s lonely lifestyle simultaneously. The casting of Dick Grayson (Michael Cera) provides some of the best comedic moments, and the comedy doesn’t let up until the credits roll. During the breaks, viewers will be treated to Batman Easter eggs and meta-commentary on the superhero genre.

The biggest drawback that Lego Batman there’s an ending where the Phantom Zone allows the full array of Warner Bros. cinematic villains to appear. It brings Harry PotterVoldemort, King Kong, Matrixagent Smith, Lord of the RingsSauron, Superman’s biggest villain, General Zod, and many others. It clutters the film and takes some of the attention away from the complex research. The relationship between Batman and the Joker, which is the highlight of the film otherwise. General, LEGO Batman Movie it’s an incredibly enjoyable ride, but Batman’s solo adventure falls short of his debut.

Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller. The Lego Movie looks at capitalism, children’s imaginations and more through a comedic lens. Evil President Business (Will Ferrell) is going to hire TAKOS Tuesday to make the world and society look the way he wants forever, and it soon falls on Emmett and his fellow Master Builders to stop him.

The LEGO Movie has yet to be surpassed in quality

The Lego Movie has yet to be surpassed when it comes to quality. Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s sensibilities can be seen throughout the film as they breathe life into this concept and make it work. His creativity and quick wit set him apart to this day. The story is that The Lego Movie Ultimately, that’s saying a lot, but the movie does a great job of laying out what you need to know for the story without having to worry about fleshing out every area. It features the strongest story, characters, and the most memorable song, “Everything Is Awesome.” the entire franchise.

The film is incredibly smart from start to finish, and even manages to capture its chosen archetype without feeling overly cliché. The use of real-world elements is also the franchise’s best achievement, with President Business’s Hall of Relics paving the way for true real-world exploration. The Lego Movie does not miss this opportunity either, because The father-son relationship in the real world adds another layer to the differing views of Emmett and President Business.. Honestly, The Lego Movie is simply special in this regard and has shown that even a simple toy like LEGO can be turned into an amazing movie.
