What the House of Spoils trailer says about the movie
Parts feel familiar, but others can surprise
In some ways, House of Spoils Feels like a familiar kind of horror movie, in which the protagonist, usually when he arrives at a new place, starts to lose his mind when they experience disturbing things. That DeBose’s character also seems to be driven by a deep need for perfection only further supports this trope, which calls to mind movies such as Black Swan. However, while the movie leans into the psychological horror, House of Spoils Has a ghost story in play too.
House of Spoils probably has a trick or two up its sleeve to explain the horror that sweeps through the restaurant, and those could help make the movie stand out among the latest genre offerings.
One character advises Chef to refrain from using the previous owner’s garden, stating “Witch ladyNaturally, the chef brushes off the warning and proceeds to take from the garden, a decision that then triggers the scary events around the new restaurant, which range from bugs crawling out of the food to a visibly disheveled chef tormenting her own patrons. Our trailer for House of Spoils
This should be an excellent showcase for DeBose
DeBose, who rose to prominence through her role in the original cast of HamiltonBecame a major Hollywood star when she won an Oscar for her performance in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story. Since then, she has appeared in several notable titles, such as Westworld, wish, And Argyll. However, few achieved a significant level of success, and they were not always the best demonstration of Debose’s talents.
House of Spoils Can give the actor the opportunity to pull off a memorable performance and to expand her genre horizons. As an initially hopeful chef who quickly spirals out of control, Debose will likely have some meaty scenes that will allow her to dig into her character and show off some of the physicality she brought to her dance-heavy roles in Hamilton And West Side Story. Additionally, Debose branching out into horror can really show her range as a performer, thus opening herself up to even more exciting roles in the future.
