According to the developer, Star field Creations released through Bethesda’s Verified Creators program will no longer block in-game achievements. The creations are mods made official by the developer, and mods have always been an important part of Bethesda games. Star field is no different, as developers have released their own paid mods alongside the free ones on Star field Creations store.
The official implementation of the achievements in Star field The creations were announced in the November updateas described in the official document Bethesda website. The update also includes quality of life improvements and new content for the game.
“If you already have a Starfield Creation installed, we recommend that you keep an eye on the Creations menu on the Starfield or Bethesda Creations page to see its friendly achievement status. Achievements will not be retroactively unlocked in previous saves with Creations, even if those Creations are now achievement friendly.”
Players have long requested this feature and can now use creations during gameplay without locking achievements. However, the developer noted that only some creations have the option to be easy to perform. Players will have to keep an eye on the crafting store for which mods are easy to accomplish.
Mods are important to Starfield’s identity
Console players can enjoy achievements and mods
Achievements on Xbox are important to many gamers and this update allows them to achieve them by using mods that Bethesda makes available. Star field Creations can range from singular missions to a new vehicle, like the Deimog land vehicle available in the November update, but they can also drastically change the game. Starfield’s The “Leave No Witnesses” mod, for example, eliminates the 30-second timer players have to deal with witnesses to their crimes, giving players more freedom if they want to pursue a pirate’s life in Star field.
THE Star field community was also receptive to the new update, with some speculating that more modders will put their mods on the creations page now that they will potentially not lock achievements for others. According to Reddit user Tramonoto83Creations that are not easy to accomplish are the main reason they haven’t downloaded them, and now they are eager to play the base game with mods. The move could open up the modding community to a wider audience of fans who initially shunned the creations. They can now use mods that revamp how NPCs work and gain new experience with Star field.
Our opinion: a step in the right direction
Making mods easier to get is better for everyone
Bethesda already embraces mods to the point where the studio launches official mods for Star fieldand just making your official mods easy to reach was detrimental to Star field players. Community mods can make a game more fun or solve problems that even the developer doesn’t realize. These creations have been an essential part of Bethesda games as Skyrim and Precipitationand Star field integrating them for a wider audience signals a step in the right direction for Bethesda. Hopefully Bethesda’s next massive RPG won’t wait so long to make mods and creations easy to accomplish right from launch.
