Steve uses a communicator to talk to Diana and reveals that Waller has built a gate to the multiverse and is building an army. from an unknown place, Waller confirms that Steve is correct and that she plans to bring the entire multiverse under her control.
Amanda Waller has become more ambitious than ever
From the Suicide Squad to Task Force VII
More often than not, Amanda Waller has been on the wrong side of history, operating from the shadows and doing what she must to protect the interests of her nation. Waller’s greatest achievement was the Suicide Squad, a secret team composed of imprisoned supervillains who agreed to take on dangerous jobs in exchange for time off their sentences. Waller was a steadfast leader and always did what she needed to get the job doneWhether that meant extortion, coercion or even actual murder.
… Waller launched an all-out attack on the heroes of the world, which caused most of them to be arrested on Gamarra.
However, after years of black ops work, Waller set her sights on bigger things, namely the terrifying and morally corrupt Earth-3, home of the Justice League’s evil counterparts, the Crime Syndicate. Waller traveled to Earth-3 with the intention of ridding the world of the Syndicate, only to end up taking control of the team. But while on this upside down world, Waller felt a higher calling to protect her home in a radical new way: By depowering every meta-human on Earth.
Don’t forget to check out the “War for Earth-3” storyline to see Waller’s first mission across the multiverse!
After returning to the Prime Universe, Waller spent months assembling the assets to complete her mission. With heavy hitters like the Brainiac Queen and Failsafe (plus a whole squad of Amazons), Waller launched a full-scale attack on the heroes of the world that resulted in most of them being incarcerated on Gamora. Even as heroes began to mount a defense, Waller worked in secret on the next phase of her planinvolving a giant portal to the multiverse and the crime syndicate from Earth-3.
Waller’s new ambitions make her a serious threat going forward
She is now a multiversal problem
Although her shady work with supervillains generally never involved major confrontations with superheroes, Waller began to see them as problematic because of their influence on the public. It was no surprise that she began to use the Suicide Squad to start dealing with heroes she felt it was necessary to take care of her, making her a real thorn in the side of big-name heroes. Even Absolute powerAs shocking as it was to see, It makes some sense because Waller wants control.
… Waller is lacking in moral beams, she pretends to be cruel determination…
But going for complete control of the multiverse is a huge departure for Waller and one that should have the heroes quite concerned. Waller may only be human, but she’s tough and knows how to psychologically manipulate even the most powerful aliens and demons. With only time and effort, she is able to capture almost the entire superhero community and seize their powers for herself. It is not so hard to believe that Waller could seriously be one of the biggest threats the DC Universe has ever seen.
True, a genuine threat like Darkseid makes Amanda Waller look like an ant. But what Waller lacks in emotional intensity, she makes up for in ruthless determination and grit. If she wants something, she doesn’t stop until she damn well gets it. If Waller has serious ambitions to take control of the multiverse, she won’t just go back to running covert operations for the government. Waller will stick to her guns and do what she has to until she does Brought her brand of justice to every other world in the DC Multiverse.
What will happen with Waller going forward?
And what about the rest of the multiverse?
Assuming Valor survives Absolute powerThe heroes will have to watch as a nation. She is very good at disappearing, but the heroes can not afford to lose track of her, less they risk her making another game for the multiverse. Hopefully the only place Waller will go in a post-Absolute power World is a prison cell, but if she winds up in the wind, the Justice League will have to do everything they can to track her down. If they’re not careful, DC’s heroes will have a lot more to worry about than that Darkseid.
