The artist is right in assessing that this is a more “Health” moment between Jason and Mrs. Voorhees. This is a more joyful look at Pamela Voorhees, Before her death by decapitation. Pamela was killed by Alice Hardy, who used Pamela’s own machete knife to kill Mrs. Voorhees. While Alice is a hero for killing Pamela after her Camp Crystal Lake massacre, Alice unfortunately becomes Jason’s first victim. When you think of Friday the 13thAn image of Jason Voorhees is often the first thing that comes to mind. But look back at the art, I was once again struck by how fascinating of a character Pamela Voorhees is. Although she is the antagonist in the original film, it is her legacy that Jason follows. As a result, Mrs. Voorhees’ character stands in for some kind of generational passing of violence, adding an extra layer to the Friday the 13th Movies that allow them to become more than simple slasher films.
