Marvel Fans Are Excited About One Suggestion Young Avengers series that will arrive in 2025 following tips from Marvel editor-in-chief, CB Cebulski, but later clarifications make it clear that this is not exactly what is coming. Cebulski teased characters like Kate Bishop, Patriot, Hulkling, and Wiccan would soon enjoy a reunion. However, since this announcement, there has been some conflicting information from Marvel Executive Editor, Senior Vice President of Publishing and X-Men Group Editor Tom Brevoort that that it is not one Young Avengers series.
“I can give you some special news here,” Cebulski teased in comments at Osaka Comic Con reported by Popverse. “The Young Avengers will assemble in 2025 in Marvel Comics. There have been two Young Avengers teams, but now we are deciding which characters, for natural story reasons, will join the new Young Avengers team. Kate-Hawkeye, Patriot, Hulkling, Wiccan…who will participate? [in] 2025!”
This quote from CB Cebulski strongly suggested that the Young Avengers would return in a new series, with a new lineup featuring characters from both previous teams. However, it has now been clarified in no uncertain terms that the young heroes will not be getting a new series. So what and happening?
The MCU has teased an upcoming team of young heroes, so what if Marvel is using their comedic reunion to change the team’s name?

But that doesn’t mean the meeting can’t take another form.
In response to CB Cebulski’s comment, Marvel Executive Editor, SVP of Publishing and X-Men Group Editor Tom Brevoort, via his Man with hat newsletter said that everything that was announced in terms of a new Young Avengers series was “was extremely misinterpreted and exaggerated.” He also comments that the Patriot will play a role in the new Captain America: Sam Wilson series, and the other Young Avengers are still floating around, but there are “There are no plans at this time for a new YOUNG AVENGERS series.” This ruins some of the excitement, but don’t give up hope just yet.
Of course, just because there won’t be Young Avengers series doesn’t mean Marvel doesn’t have plans for the characters. The team could still appear as supporting characters in another series, or they could get a dedicated one-shot or annual. It’s also possible that some Young Avengers icons will unite under a new codename. In fact, if this and the case, could be an important indicator of the MCU’s upcoming plans.
A Young Avengers reunion could hint at what’s to come for the MCU
Marvel is planning SOMETHING with its young heroes
In recent years of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), several young heroes have appeared in different MCU entries. Some of these young heroes were part of one of the Young Avengers teams from the comics, while others didn’t have the honor. At the end of The Wonders, written and directed by Nia Dacosta, Ms. Marvel is seen recruiting Kate Bishop for a team, asking her if she thought she was the only child superhero in the world. Marvel synergy means the comics often make changes to remain familiar to movie fans, so what if this next ‘child heroes’ project it is not will be titled Young Avengers?
It is possible that the Young Avengers The reunion teased by Cebulski will introduce a new name for the group, potentially debuting a concept planned for the MCU instead of using the ‘Young Avengers’ name. So while a new Young Avengers series almost certainly won’t be arriving anytime soon, it looks like the iconic characters are heading towards some kind of reunion, and possibly one that will indicate the fate of Marvel’s next generation in the MCU.
