As much as CD Projekt Red wants to insist it’s going on Cyberpunk 2077, The studio can’t help but return to the game to make it even more impressive. Already one of the most immersive role-playing games on the market, the studio goes the extra mile by adding some technical improvements that will go a long way to make Night City look more realistic than ever before. Patch 2.13 features some fantastic tech that should appeal to PC players looking to take their game to the next level.
Posted to the clerk CDPR Blog, Patch 2.13 adds support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 with Frame GenerationAn impressive piece of tech used to smooth out frame rates and push games to run smoother than ever. The update also adds support for Intel Xe Super Sampling 1.3Which will increase overall performance when used alongside advanced ray-tracing systems at 4K resolutions. finally, PC players can now activate both DLAA and DLSS Ray Reconstruction simultaneouslyEnsuring the dynamic lighting of the Night City looks more realistic than ever before.
What does this mean for Cyberpunk 2077?
Another major visual upgrade
Patch 2.13 includes a lot of technical boosts for those who can run them, but the biggest addition is undoubtedly AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3. The software enables certain GPUs to simulate additional frames, inserting them between two established frames to create a smoother experience. The tech is not perfect and it is recommended that players who want to use the feature do so with a monitor with a 120Hz refresh rate, otherwise there may be some issues with frame syncing.
Being able to turn on both DLAA and DLSS Ray Reconstruction can be a major strain on the GPU, so anyone who wants to activate both settings should be aware that this can result in some performance hiccups. After that, with the right setup, Activating them both should result in a much sharper image at a higher resolutionAll the better for the sights and sounds of Night City. Used in conjunction with Intel Xe Super Sampling 1.3, Cyberpunk 2077 Should run especially smoothly at 4K resolutions, even with a lot of action happening on screen.
