Gary King is a main cast member in Sailing yacht below deckbut his red flags make him a huge problem for the franchise. Before Sailing yacht below deck As Season 5 ended, allegations surfaced about Gary’s problematic sexual misconduct. He allegedly engaged in sexual misconduct with former Bravo employee Samantha Suarez. It came after she was asked to accompany him back to his room following drunken confessional filming. Gary was barely punished for his behavior by the network and continues to star Sailing yacht below deck season 5.
Gary isn’t the only problematic cast member Sailing yacht below deck. Seaman Emma Crouch has been struggling with basic tasks aboard the Parsifal III. Also, Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher is at her wits end regarding her incompetent and lazy stews, Danni Warren and Diana Cruz. Captain Glenn Shephard is just trying to keep his small crew aboard the yacht together, but that may become increasingly difficult as professional and personal relationships explode. Here’s why Gary’s warning signs should get him canceled.
Gary’s dynamic with his team is problematic
He’s not dealing well with Emma
Gary is definitely struggling with his deck crew Sailing yacht below deck season 5. There are several reasons for the problems he faces aboard the Parsifal III. First, Gary misses his former chief engineer, Colin Macrae. Before Colin and Daisy got involved on a boat in Sailing yacht below deck Season 4, Gary, Colin and Daisy were great friends. Unfortunately, Gary and Daisy were off-screen between seasons 3 and 4, and Gary had unresolved feelings for his former friend as the season progressed. Gary became jealous of Colin and tried to undermine their relationship.
But before all the drama, Colin and Gary were a dream team. When Gary became nervous or unprofessional, Colin was there to defuse the situation and provide good advice. Gary has tried to trust Daisy this season, but their relationship is still too difficult and strained for her to provide unbiased, balanced advice. After Gary and Danni share a drunken kiss in the ocean, Daisy yells at Gary for going back to his old ways and refusing to learn his lesson. Instead of listening, Gary got defensive and stormed off.
Gary’s job as first mate is to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of his sailors, and he is failing.
Gary is also struggling with Emma, his seemingly lazy and inexperienced sailor. She didn’t tie the proposal together correctly, leading to a potentially dangerous situation. Emma also did not dry the deck enough, causing safety concerns for guests walking in the morning while waiting to eat breakfast. The sailor appears incapable of performing basic tasks, despite having extensive experience. Instead of calmly teaching her his way of commanding the deck crew, Gary becomes impatient and makes Emma feel inferior, leading to some overly sensitive and emotional responses from the exasperated deckhand.
Emma appears to be a frustrating employee, but Gary’s past raises questions about his attitude towards her. Everyone knows that Gary’s weakness is women, but he seems like the kind of man who only cares about the women in his orbit if he’s attracted to them. Gary is not romantically interested in Emma, so adopts sexist attitudes towards the male-dominated yachting world. Gary’s feminism falls short as he only pays attention to women he wants to have sex with.
Gary King’s Secrets Exposed Amid Producer Manipulation Allegations
It could tarnish the network’s reputation
Gary claimed he is being edited Sailing yacht below deck Season 5 because of her allegations of sexual misconduct. After attending a screening in October, Gary took to Instagram to share her thoughts and didn’t mince words. “It’s sad to see that all of this was edited out of tonight’s episode. It’s scary how one person’s lies can ruin someone’s career and livelihood,” Gary captioned it, sharing a photo carousel of never-before-seen images. “Oh well, my head is high, I’m tall, ’cause I know the truth.”
“Since most of me will probably be edited out this season, I’ll try to post as much as possible to show you what you’ve been missing.”
Fans seem to support Gary mostly in the comments. “Gary, you are one of the best things to ever happen to TV. I’m outraged that they’re barely showing you,“wrote one fan, while another said:”Oh my god… Gary, please post as much as you can. You have a huge amount of support.” It seems like Gary’s status as a fan favorite remains strong among many viewersbut allegations of misconduct are still troubling. He could do more harm than good to Bravo if he continues to throw around accusations of being edited. Gary’s red flags could get him fired.
Gary King is under fire for sexual misconduct
He denied all accusations
The charges brought against Gary are quite brutal, taking place during Sailing yacht below deck Season 4 filming in Sardinia, Italy in 2022. Samantha, a member of the production team who worked in hair and makeup, alleged that Gary, while intoxicated, acted inappropriately toward her in his hotel room. Gary vehemently denied the allegations. Bravo even hired him back for Sailing yacht below deck season 5.
Details of the sexual misconduct are described below.
According to Samantha, Gary was acting erratically, likely due to intoxication. Later, he reportedly asked Samantha to stay with him in his room, despite knowing she was dating. After she returned with snacks and water, Gary reportedly appeared in his underwear, asking her not to leave and then grabbed and forcibly held her against her will. Samantha managed to escape after receiving a call from a colleague, but was left quite shaken by the incident.
Gary King should be canceled
Bravo is endorsing bad behavior
It’s time to cancel Gary. Almost anyone who has ever been accused of sexual misconduct, harassment, or assault denies it occurred. In the age of believing women, it sucks that Bravo continues to endorse a potential sexual predator. Gary’s on-screen behavior lends itself to the accusations, given his changing personality under the influence of large amounts of alcohol and obsession with women. Gary made a serious mistake with Samanthaand Bravo should not continue to support a man who threatens the safety of the cast, crew and guests aboard Parsifal III.
Gary is a fun cast member and not an entirely bad guy. It’s fascinating to see his relationship with Daisy evolve on screen. He can also be a lot of fun and is clearly the life of the party. Gary is also a highly qualified and competent first mate, making him a valued member of the Sailing yacht below deck team. However, he did not face broad consequences for his actions. In order for Gary to improve and grow as a human being, he needs to be canceled. Gary deserves to face repercussions for his behavior.
Sailing yacht below deck airs Mondays at 9pm ET on Bravo and streams the next day on Peacock.
