Below Deck Mediterranean Second Stew Elena “Ellie” Dubaich’s childish behavior is alienating viewers and threatening her future with the franchise. Ellie appeared briefly in Below Deck Mid Season 7 before becoming a full-time cast member in Season 9. The Slovenian massage therapist started the season strong, demonstrating confidence and dedication to her role on the superyacht’s interiors team. Ellie was happy to mentor the third least experienced stew, Bri Muller. But as the season progressed, Ellie’s youthful antics got in the way of her success.
Ellie and Bri’s relationship ended when they both pursued the same man, Deckhand Joe Bradley. Ellie’s resentment toward Bri spilled over into her household duties, resulting in accusations of bullying and sabotage. Ellie acted aggressively and then threw Bri under the bus to Chief Stew Aesha Scott. Even after the two finally patched things up and moved on, Ellie’s antics continued. The last straw was her overtaking the role of Aesha amid her own aspirations to become Chief Stew. At the end of the season, the entire crew turned on Ellie due to her disrespectful attitude.
Ellie’s youthful performance these days
She continued her feud with Bri after filming
After Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9 ended, Ellie and Bri seemed to have made up. Joe even revealed that he and Ellie rekindled their romance after filming ended. However, he confirmed that Ellie’s petty behavior continued when she kept “speak badly“Bri. Joe saw that Ellie hadn’t grown at all and ended the relationship.
Meanwhile, Ellie criticized Joe for not posting any photos of the couple together, and then posting photos of himself with Bri. It seems like Ellie’s only focus is on fame and attention rather than building a real connection. Since Joe wasn’t flaunting their relationship, she didn’t find any value in it.
Ellie acknowledged her bad behavior on the show but didn’t take responsibility for it. She claimed she didn’t recognize herself when watching the season, which conveniently downplays her responsibility for her actions. She also defended her obsession with the ship’s hierarchy, citing her experiences on larger yachts and insinuating that Bri’s lack of experience caused the rift. Ellie may be ashamed of her behavior, but she continues to make excuses and deflect from her contribution to the season’s drama.
Ellie made Aesha Scott angry
She disrespected Aesha’s authority
Aesha’s friendly leadership style was tested during Bri and Ellie’s dispute over Joe. Aesha tried to understand where they were coming from and hear both sides of the story. But when Bri and Ellie’s work began to suffer, Aesha could no longer tolerate their childish behavior. She threatened to fire both Stews if they couldn’t put the drama behind them and focus on their jobs.
BravoEllie didn’t react well to Aesha’s harsh approach. She felt victimized even though she was often the aggressor in her fights with Bri. Ellie and Bri resolved their issues, but Ellie began to complain about being micromanaged by Aesha. She began to relax and then blamed her lack of motivation for the alleged mistreatment. As her performance declined, Ellie still talked about her hopes of becoming a Chief Stew.
When Ellie got tired of feeling devalued and belittled, she began to usurp Aesha’s authority. Ellie bossed the new Stew Carrie O’Neill around, despite having no authority over her. Aesha finally had enough when Ellie interfered in the yacht’s operations, giving orders to the kitchen staff, which was supposed to be the Stew Chef’s job. Aesha confronted Ellie, who again tried to act innocent and ignorant. Ellie retaliated by badmouthing Aesha to other crew members. His behavior was completely childish and should not continue.
Ellie would make a terrible stew-in-chief
Your childish behavior is not suitable for leadership
Ellie’s behavior proves that she is not in a position to fill Chief Stew’s authoritative role. She doesn’t handle criticism well and can’t admit her mistakes. Ellie’s rivalry with Bri shows how easily she allows personal matters to get in the way of doing her job well. And by turning against Aesha, Ellie proved how little respect she has for the people she should learn from.
Ellie often looked to Aesha for advice on how to advance her career. Aesha advised Ellie to stay focused on her current job and gain more experience. Ellie ignored his suggestion and decided to act like a chef. After Ellie crossed too many boundaries, Aesha criticized her behavior as “juvenile”And said that Ellie has a lot to learn before she thinks about becoming a Chief Stew.
Ellie’s constant drama may have brought excitement to Below Deck Mediterraneanbut it was detrimental to the rest of the crew. She acted superior to everyone on the ship, making a friendly work environment impossible. Ellie’s childish behavior was unprofessional and she should not be brought back for another season. His negativity toward his coworkers created a toxic workplace that should not be repeated.
