Warning: Spoilers for Deadpool #8!Batman doesn’t kill – but Dead Pool definitely does. Merc with a Mouth has no problem playing on the darker side, while always keeping his comics light enough by cracking a joke or referencing a new trend in pop culture. But since Deadpool’s daughter took up the mantle, she’s had to live by her father’s new rule: no killing. She has already found a creative opening, however.
Deadpool is officially dead in Marvel Comics. His daughter, Ellie Camacho, who has the same healing factor and has been training to hone some of her abilities, has officially taken on the title of Deadpool and is following in his footsteps as she hunts down her father’s killer. In Dead Pool #8 by Cody Ziglar, Alexis Quasarano, Rogê Antônio, Guru-eFX and Joe Sabino, Deadpool faces a villain with red lightsabers instead of guns called Laser Fist.
Although Ellie previously agreed to follow her father’s dying wish, she makes a last-minute change, deciding that Laser Fist is more machine than human – so she shouldn’t count when dead.
Marvel’s New Deadpool Decides Who Doesn’t Count To His Father’s No-Killing Rule
Ellie Camacho finds a creative way to break a rule
If Deadpool isn’t telling jokes that break the fourth wall, then he’s probably busy killing. He’s not Batman and he even killed the Marvel Universe in one story. No comic book fan expected Deadpool to take the no-killing rule seriouslybut he implemented this to protect his daughter from repeating the same traumatic life. Only time will tell if Ellie, as the newest Deadpool, will end up becoming like her father or like Batman.
Being Deadpool means cutting corners and sometimes becoming an antihero.
But it seems Batman’s life was never in the plans. Being Deadpool means cutting corners and sometimes becoming a murderous antihero. Ultimately, Deadpool is a mercenary, and his newest no-killing rule just doesn’t fit his character. Ellie is starting to discover the limits of this rule, and she may be just as creative as her father in her quest to avenge his death.
Deadpool’s Daughter Honors Wade Wilson With Fun Breaks in Her Own Rules
Batman would never accept Deadpool’s death
While Ellie may still be new to the Deadpool mantle, in this loophole in the no-killing rule, she shows a cunning that can’t be taught. In the heat of battle, she thinks quickly and this improvisation helps her turn the battle in her favor. Batman would definitely excommunicate her from the Bat-Family for this rule-breakingsince he’s a hero who doesn’t cut corners, but luckily, she’s part of the Deadpool family – which is a lot more fun anyway.
Ellie also breaks the no-killing rule in the most Deadpool way: a fun, smart, and hilarious way for fans. Ellie Camacho is living up to her father’s legacy as the newest Deadpool. It remains to be seen whether she will follow the same line of mercenary behavior and end up on a universal killing spree in the near future. For now, Dead Pool He is a fan of gaps and will do whatever is necessary – even if indirectly.
